Why's it called giraffe bread? Do they keep it on the top shelf, so you have to stretch your neck to see it?


Everywhere else it's called Tiger Bread - it has a rice wash brushed on it before baking. A young child was encouraged by his/her mother to write to Sainsburys, where they had just bought some, repeating what s/he had told her that it looked more like a giraffe than a tiger. Soon afterwards Sainsburys relabelled it as Giraffe bread.

I was in the bread aisle of tescos today and saw something that reminded me of you Alex.
Then I looked again and saw it said 'thick cut'....
