Here’s the thing.
When the public turns to outright gangsters and crooks like Trump, Musk, Farage, Johnson and the ilk, they unwittingly endorse the behavior of these rapacious billionaires and millionaires.
The culture of obscene wealth, greed, cruelty, corruption and incompetence - all executed with complete impunity - is upon us all.
So you have businesses being ran by mini-Musks or the sort of characters that know the only thing that matters is how said Musks feel. Work your employees to death, strip benefits and salaries, mental health is for the weak, empathy is for pussies. Etc etc.
Eventually they cut too deep, ignore too many competent experts, and drive out any sense of moral obligation and professional pride that people have because…well…what good is that?
Then the floor at the wine factory cracks….except it’s at a major dam, or a power grid, or a center for disease control.
And there’s no escape from it except an internal one. Retreat into your family, listen to your favorite records, drink well, be kind, create community and eat good food while you can.
Eventually it’ll be all heads on sticks in town squares. But maybe not during our lifetime.
Anyway, Rudkin out. And take that incompetent billionaire too. Sooner the club was in League 2 being run by people that care about it.
