Probably all true, which begs the question as to why they appointed someone like Steve Cooper who is as anti-Pep/anti-Maresca as Sean Dyche

That appointment looks more ludicrous by the hour
Cos it might mean Rudkin & Top actually have to do some work rather than having a chat with whoever fancies the job. Tellingly it was reported Potter turned it down (3rd time Rudkin wanted him) because of staff demands - he's just in the process of getting one of his preferred members of staff in at West Ham.

We dream of having an analytics team and back-up plans which can identify managers with the best continuity. The club has built this headquarters in the sticks to have facilities better than the likes of Manchester United et al but it's not being properly ****ing used either by the monkeys running it or the strategy (or lack of) over the top of it.

This season I think if we'd have done what Ipswich have done - ie. buy players with a resale value on decent wages, held a strategy and give it a good ****ing go with some surprise results - the moaning would have been minimal.

I think everyone's unhappy about the lack of transfer activity so there's an element of 'no shit Sherlock' about this story. One can point at PSR as much as the club (though it has to be said that the club are not known for haste, nor being astute of late)

We have the cash, we're lead to believe, we just can't spend it. We're trying to get maybe 3 players and have sod all money to do it with. That's got to present its challenges.

No shit Sherlock. We’ve heard this over multiple windows, but ultimately we’re clearly limited by the contracts that we’ve given to the players that we want to get rid of. I suspect last minute loans out and in are all that we’ll be able to achieve, so roll on the end of the window, as I doubt there will be much movement until deadline day or thereabouts.

Might go of his own accord...

BR had some decent ones lined up in the summer of idleness
My theory is that we backed him by not selling anyone then though. Realistically, without selling, we were never going to be able to sign many players. Ultimately this failed on many fronts, as, not only did we get relegated, but we also lost potential fees, or higher fees due to expiring contracts, when we needed them most.

Yep. Should have sold Youri at a minimum.

Completely agree.

So he says. Tapping up?

Much is said of the club's tight/limited/non-existent communication. BR says the club only told him that there was no money to sign players after he'd already tapped up spoken to players. Had he told the club he was going to do that? What made him think he could? Communication works two ways.

BR was pulled up on his actions and then proceeded to sulk for the rest of the season.

Edit: added "non-existent"!

This is a bad look for us. We dicked Enzo around too.

Let’s face it, we can speculate all we want but all roads to lead to ineffective ownership/board/higher management.

It’s not a coincidence that BR, Enzo and Ruud have the same purported complaints. And as it turns out, the only manager we seem to have supported since 21/22, is Steve Cooper. What a cock-up.

Not selling an asset is hardly backing the manager if all that leads to is unbalanced squad. 22/23 was more than that though, BR seemed to have lost his way, we should’ve absolutely stayed up with that team. Buck stops with Top, it was painstakingly obvious that BR should’ve been sacked well before he was. Regardless, he wasn’t backed in the transfer market. It’s a theme. You blame the hierarchy of decision makers.
