As others have said, if this was one of the teams below us doing this we’d have been laughing our tits off.

Just shows the lack of interest from other experienced parties.

Would love to be wrong, will have extra servings of humble pie.

May as well all get behind him and see what happens 🫣.

"I have to say, when the interest came, the first one I called was Enzo. He was so positive about it. He absolutely loved his time. When you hear these things, it’s a club you want to be a part of. Obviously, with the interest coming, I phoned him and I asked him more detailed questions about the Club, the structures, the people that work there, the squad, the stadium, the fans, the town, the surroundings… it was a fantastic conversation. It’s always a pleasure to talk to him”.
So nice and uplifting to hear such positive things about our club after months of total negativity on here and elsewhere from people spouting off on stuff they can't possibly know anything about.

Silver Fox, you can get Enzo on the blower???

I think it's an extraordinary decision.

A totally random punt on someone without any evidence to suggest that he's capable of the job required.
I don't really know what the alternatives were though?

Cooper had to go (as you've stated), and so assuming that we couldn't attract Moyes or Potter, there's pretty much no-one else available with valid PL experience.

So you're left with:
  1. PL has-beens (Smith, Megson, equivalents, etc.)
  2. Gambling on an up and coming Championship manager (Corberán, Robins, etc.)
  3. Gambling on an up and coming overseas manager (RVN, ?)
  4. ??
I'm quite excited. I don't believe that it's like picking one number in roulette, but more like picking 10 or 15. Our squad is clearly relegation material, and we're still odds-on to go down. But I believe there's a higher chance of us staying up now than there was with Cooper.

Feel very meh. Massive gamble. Hope he's brought his boots.
I don’t think there is any obvious saviour. I also reckon any appointment is a gamble (to a certain extent regardless of past experience) - each set of circumstances is different (players, finances, fans, staff, owners) and we’ve seen so many managers who do great things at one club - get a different or ‘bigger’ job off the back of that success and then totally flop. Changing the manager is a gamble but one the owners and most people on here clearly felt needed to be taken.

The saying ‘Insanity is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results’ likely applies here and we are where we are. New guy - new mix - new potion with the potential to have magical results or mix to make a poison. At least it’s interesting and I’ll enjoy watching things unfold! I’m sure we’ll all get behind the club and that’ll be one less thing for Ruud to concern himself with 👍

I think we are likely ****ed. We messed up in the summer and we have a worse team than at the beginning of our championship campaign. Idiotic really. So many to blame for that.

Yeah. That's why I'm just meh about it. Normally would have some idea about how we expect it to pan out based on previous. Hopefully it all works out...doubt it. But I also doubt it would if we'd got someone with experience....so, meh.
