I dont suppose youve gone to the game this weekend Glyn. Glamorgan are thrashing us.

It was a mistake to play Kruger in this game imo with Glamorgan having made an approach for him.

I just haven't had any time this week due to work. Holding on at 311-9, but the sun is shining and it will be well over before 5pm.

I think Nixon had scored two 90s this year so glad he's got a ton. He's got over 900 runs and averaging over 50.

We're back :icon_wink

Leicestershire v Derbyshire at Leicester - Sep 24-27, 2008
Stumps - Leicestershire trail by 163 runs with 9 wickets remaining in the 1st innings
Derbyshire 194; Leicestershire 31/1
GP Smith 12* HH Dippenaar 9* WA White 6-0-18-1 GG Wagg 6-3-13-0

Malik and Du Preez ruled out. Du Preez is an odd one, he's done well with the ball but is missing every other game. An he's supposed to be an all-rounder but hasn't scored more than 20 in the CC, but made a ton in the Pro40 :icon_roll

Heading for a win. Dippenaar contributes at last, Boyce makes a decent 60 odd and Cliff gets his best bowling with 4 wickets. We'll finish 3rd bottom, even if Glamorgan win, due to our 1 batting point.

Leicestershire v Derbyshire at Leicester - Sep 24-27, 2008
Leicestershire require another 20 runs with 8 wickets remaining
Derbyshire 194 and 203; Leicestershire 208 and 170/2
HH Dippenaar 74* HD Ackerman 8* GG Wagg 12-2-51-0 GM Smith 6-0-15-1

Dippenaar waits until now to turn into ****ing Bradman! If anything it makes me hate him more, lol.

Shit season, glad its over actually. I'll write up some thoughts about it tomorrow

Guess whos skipper :icon_bigg

I've wrote a few things about the season on here, well for another site actually but I put them up here too even though only one man and his dog reads them http://leicestershirefoxes.blogspot.com/

Read your blog and enjoyed it.

Just one thing....your comments re Boeta Dippenaar. He should undoubtedly be a class act by Division 2 standards (30+ test average facing new ball; 40 + ODI). Why did he perform so poorly? His innings in the 2nd innings against derbys (final game) was excellent in a low scoring game.

My understanding is that he has a further year on his contract - I wonder if he will actually return. If he does I think he might well surprise you by being very successful.

Perfect captaincy signing IMO but we don't have the imagination to have him in some mentoring role.

I think so too.

Nixon's individual performances are exceptional - especially batting in difficult situations, he seems about the only player (plus young Cobb) prepared to battle it out e.g. in the second innings irrespective of the match situation. He is a credit to his profession in that respect.

But..even given that it's difficult captaining a losing side, there are some question marks about his captaincy and also obvious tensions amongst some senior players and I think an experienced 'outsider' needs to take over next season. We didn't get Cork so Law could be an answer.
