Sounds like DJ worked his socks off but offered little goal threat

Same could be said of Howard though, no?

Howard's in there because of the flick ons etc, creating stuff for Fryatt... how did Deej do in that department today?

Just got in from work, good result. Didn't really expect a win today, so very happy to see it. And back to the top of the league! Awesome.

I knew we would win today. Andy King scores an absolute beauty....But of course there are the 'wise' ones on here who will still say he's shit.

A great win today. Well done lads..

Steve Howard (IMO) has been absolutely superb this season. I am sure Matty Fryatt would agree also.

Brilliant result today, lets hope we stay there till the end now.

As for Andy King, it's not his goal scoring that's the problem, it's what he does for most of the game, he needs to get a lot more aggressive and not get pushed off the ball easily, go into tackles harder and improve his passing.

We did not play particularly well today, we missed an aerial presence. Campbell caught offfside too often but the ref and linesman were poor.
We should have been 2 or 3 up at half time and should have had a penalty. Scunthorpe dominated 2nd half and looked like they would win it. King has got us off the hook today, and its 3 points from overall a poor performance.

Fecking freeeezing today!

Well done to the stewards, delt very well with the Leicester masses.

We dominated first half, they had the better of the second. Could have gone either way at the end.

Morrison and Tunchev are a class act together and deserve lots of praise for todays performance. :038:

Happier this week BG :icon_bigg

Excellent win. I'm feeling more optimistic this season, the fact we are top of league might have something to do with it.

I must check the Guinness Book of Record this Christmas to see if he beat the ''most times offside in a game of football''. He worked hard off the ball but apart from that little else.

The first half was the best I've seen us play all season. Probably 4 clear-cut chances - 2 which should have been finished, 2 which were superbly saved (including Campbell). We didn't look great at the back though during this stage. It was end to end stuff - exciting football. It could have been about 5-2 to us at the break

Second half, I think Pearson curbed our attacking intentions. We had one chance, goal! Maybe it's my luck - still unbeaten in my attendance and these includes 4 80th+ minute winners.

On performances, Tunchev was the don at the back today. Superb, constantly fouled but never put a foot wrong.

Mattock was truly dreadful - a 2 and he deserved hauling off. Either trying too hard to impress or simply his heart's not in it.

Oakley I thought was good in spells as was Berner but he needs to improve his defensive work in midfield. King was utter shit until his goal and missed a great chance.

Dyer and Fryatt both worked their socks off. Fryatt foiled by a good save and Dyer took his chance beautifully.

It was cold, very cold. I think I hate Glanford Park now - out of town, cold and I'm always stuck behind some pillar.

The ref was also utter wank today - didn't punish two late tackles on Edworthy and Hobbs.

Oh yeh and Scunthorpe's defence wasn't very good. Infact, I thought they were very direct and came up against a decent defence, had no answer.

What a great result!!!Only listened to a little of the second half. I will be interested to hear from those that went how DJ faired. Will Howard come straight back into the side on Tuesday?

First half he seemed to be effective against a shakey Scunthorpe defence and seemed to have a good understanding with Fryatt.

Second half he ran his socks off and was unlucky to have a goal disallowed for hand ball.

I still think Howard will be in the side for Tuesday night though - simply on what he brings to the team which has been much discussed on here.

He was shit:icon_razz

Nah he did ok today, midfield seem to cope better than in recent weeks. I thought Berner got forward well but every so often the pair of them got caught and left space behind them for Scunthorpe to get forward themselves.

A nicely taken goal as well.

The ref was an arse, and so was the lino down our end. DJ might well get caught offside a few times but EVERY single time he went forward? Feck off....especially the one time where DJ waited and waited and looked across at the lino before making his run from behind the defender only to be flagged yet again.....

Nice that they dug out the result, I actually thought Scunthorpe would be better opposition than they were, judging from their results so far this season. They weren't.

And we were home for 7pm, excellent!
