Re: Sheffield Wednesday

Surely that Megabus is a complete waste of time?? Ive never used it but why would anyone want to spend 10 hours making a journey they could do in 2.

Because I had orignally thought it would cost cheaper but as proved it doesnt. I suppose the reasoning behind the company is just picking on people's eye for bargain.

For example if someone got a free ticket for a blockbuster and it started at 4.30pm but they finished work at say 4. I am sure the person would go out of the normal routine to see the film as its for free. People love a bargain, thats why the q's at January are so bloody long.

I understand that but its a journey, surely you want to make it as short as possible, wasting a whole day travelling a hundred miles is ludicrous and doesnt say much about how much people value their time.

Yeh but people are suckers, I agree with your opinion and I only thought its worthy a try because of my budget.

I think that's a slight exaggeration DF :icon_roll

I wouldn't use them myself but I can see why people do.
They can be very cheap if you book in advance (London to Glasgow for £3 for example), and they don't take that much longer than other forms of transport.

London to Perth takes 10 hours on Megabus. Please supply the times of trains which leave London and arrive in Perth 2 hours later. Would this be from Kings Cross or Euston?

I have traveled on Megabus about ten or twelve times. It's certainly different, but no worse than National Express - but the main attraction will always be that it's cheap and I am sure it has its place in the market.

He's probably comparing it to flyng. But he's not taking into account the time it takes to get to/from the airport and the messing around before/after the flight.

It still wouldn't work for you though, Hazz. You need a c/c to make a phone booking.

Ive got no experience of it as I stated, I was just thinking of Bocs comment about needing to leave at 6:45am. I was still exaggerating though :)

I now understand where you were coming from with your '10 hours' comment.

Megabus is not a frequent service ; its paucity of routes and longer journey times will not often make it suitable for match travel. If ever I do see a match for which I think Megabus would be useful ( a morning kick-off in London), I will surely let people know. It does WAISAD have one valuable advantage over FoxTravel - there is no risk of having to sit next to Bernie!
