Personally, I see nothing wrong with what he said....

"If we win every game then we'll finish second. But we're realistic people and you have to say the top two aren't going to lose too many games."

Who could rationally disagree with that statement?

(Then again, 'rationality' and Talking Balls rarely go hand-in-hand)[/QUOTE]

A brilliant last sentence London Fox. Well done

I remember earlier this season he was moaning about how we didn't play as good football as Doncaster did.

Judging by some of his comments and his mediocre performances I really don't think his heart is in it for us tbh.

Really haven't got a problem with what we has said just being realistic. I think some people are shite stirring for a bit of a kick.

Only watched televised games and going on what I've read but Wellens has been our most influential player this season IMO.

I wouldn't like to say, I'd have to infract myself.

You're not going to catch me out with that one again.

You need to read match reports that reflect the actual games then.

out of our three main midfielders he would be third on my list, and as for influential- that would put him a long way behind Berner, Weale, Fryatt and Morrison as well.

:038: Agree entirely. Hobbs, Morrison, Brown, King, Berner, Fryatt and Weale have all been far more important this season.

Professional footballer tells the truth. How terrible!

Don't be an idiot DG...... anybody with any sense can assume winning all the games is a non starter.
The point is it seems a bit of a negative attitude. He should be saying " **** it the team are going to go for it we believe we can get 2nd spot"

Sometimes telling the truth is not a wise thing to do!

I don't think that it matters in the slightest whether what he says is 'defeatist' or just 'realistic'.

I'm not even remotely interested in what he says - only in the contribution that he makes in matches.

..... which most of the time is **** ALL!

I wouldn't call him poor, he's just a bog standard Championship midfielder. As others have said he's probably been our weakest central midfielder behind King and Oakley tbh, and he's been nowhere near as influential as Fryatt, Weale, Morrison, Hobbs or Berner have.

You don't have to be on this forum you know if you think like that.

BG are you really putting yourself forward as the champion of rational discussion. That would be depressing. We look to Jeff, Profondo, Macky Beaumont and others for thoughtful comment but the forum needs its jesters as well.

I thought Wellens was excellent for the first couple of months. However, in recent months his passing seems to have gone more wayward. Nevertheless his workrate and his commitment are good and I would be surprised to see Nigel leave him out.

I think it's a shit attitude to be honest.
