At the bottom of the article mentions we are interested/linked with Mr Jackson again. Not sure what to make of Simeon Jackson really, Boc, as you're in the area you might know more of him? From an outsider it appears Gillingham have hardly been performing that well with him in League One?

I think more interestingly Hoos seems to be challenging Pearson to utilise the existing squad and dampening supporter expectation that a replacement will be signed. The fact he is talking about the players bought in the last window and the quality of our substitutes would suggest that the club are reluctant to fund anymore signings this season.
 
Sounds to me like we won't be doing any business whatsoever

I'm not surprised that we won't sign anyone. We've still got four first team strikers at the club. We were complaining about having too many earlier in the season.
 
It's simply not good enough if we don't bring someone in to replace Fryatt. We have an oppotunity to complete Mandarics 'plan' and scrape play off place. I'd have to question the sincerity of the plan if he won't stump up a fw quid for a decent replacement on loan.

Yes. But more to the point are there any potential loanees out there who would be better than what we have got? Some of the suggested signings by fellow TB'rs are making me reach for the tablets and try and find that noose I've got stored somewhere.

I would think NP would be after someone who has been 50/50 in a lower premiership team. This could involve a one-off payment for his services as well as a large chunk of his wages.
 
Here's a few names I came up with (players who would be available)

Martin Paterson (Burnley, needs games for fitness)
Victor Anichebe (coming back from injury, needs games)
David Kitson (Dog at Middlesbrough)
Macheda (Is he really that good?)
Stefan Maierhofer (Wolves, 6ft 5in bean pole, coming back from injury, needs games)

Paterson is shit.
Anichebe wouldnt come here we have more chance of getting Vaughn.
Kitson worse than Paterson.
Macheda would be nice but I doubt it would happen.
Maierhofer never heard of her.
 
Interesting. Look at it from NPs point of view .... with 4 strikers at the club already (3 of whom NP bought in) getting a decent player in and paying their wages ... say £20k a week for a seciond string prem player plus an "arrangement fee" ... looks like a £250,000 bet. I think we will stick with what we've got and maybe bring in a loan youngster as cover for our cover!

But who knows? Only NP and MM.

Just suggestions, not preferences. Just looked through the PL squad lists.

You do realise Paterson scored 19 last season? :icon_roll

That's more than our currently available strikers put together this season.

Are you basing your opinion on the fact he plays for Burnley or didn't you realise he scored 19 goals for them last season and helped them get into the Premiership. Much rather have him than that one hit wonder Macheda, who was in the right place at the right time for one game and has done **** all since.

What tone I was just giving my opinion on your list which I actually think is a damn site better than the others that have been doing the rounds.
And I think I have paterson mixed up with another burnley striker so apologies there.

Kitson is shocking though!!!
