Guys, what you have to consider is the performance against Norwich once we were two goals up. Suddenly, the players were interested and relaxed, and how good was the football then? We're simply stuck with players who are struggling under the pressure they've put themselves under. When they relax they have a lot of ability and I hope we can see more of that soon!

If we stay up, they will have a fresh start next season - will be more relaxed and hopefully we will be able to do something!

Do you not think we are playing quite a bit of better football now than the last few years, even a little bit? With some confidence and time (time we can ill aford granted) we will start scoring the chances we are creating?
Excellent, all my worries are now aleviated :icon_roll

No, I think we are playing like schoolkids, totally clueless and inept. Made even worse by stupid tactical decisions, players being played out of positions, unmotivated players, and a general lack of commitment.

I do see glimpses of us looking better, but briefly, and then the gimp on the bench will go and change something to make us look like idiots again.

I think at times the football under Holloway's been the best in years and that's been with players out of position. No Hoofball. However when the going it's tough - it's been clueless and with little fight that the hoofball when we're losing doesn't even get used.

It now seems that a good few supporters have lost or are losing their desire for the Club. There now seems a certain amount apathy towards things. It a sad sad state affairs when people who have supported the Club for ten of years are no longer going. These people aren't the fairweather supporters, these people have seen the McClintock,Hamilton,Taylor Leicester sides and after watching this shower they are losing or have lost their 'Mojo'.What has happened to my Club:102:

Our demise makes a massive nod to how professional football has gone in the past few years. We're a classic case of club chasing some dream and it all going down the shitter. Combined with the attitudes of professionals in football....it's became more painful than ever before.

Bollocks!!!

Nothing has changed in the past 50 years. We're passionate about our club, but the players don't seem interested, and the Manager doesn't appear good enough. They show no interest, we lose our passion, we stop going.

It's always happened, and it always will.

I blame the fans.

Got to agree with that, just look at how clubs which once played in the top tiers of the leagues can end up almost disappearing (Blackpool, Accrington etc.), football hasn't changed, our club has lost it's soul due to a sustained period of poor management (on and off the pitch).

So you blame yourself, city fan? :102:

My post was 'tongue in cheek', in response to Ollie moaning when our fans booed Carl Cort. :icon_wink

Accrington?

The only reason the original Accrington was in the top division is because there was only one division at the time. After five years they dropped out of the league and folded soon afterwards, so they didn't, 'almost' disappear.

Or did you mean Accrington Stanley?
They never played anywhere near the top division, and they also completely disappeared. The current club of the name is not connected to either of the two previous league clubs from the town.

Ah, gotcha, so you blame the fans. right?

50 years ago, City players weren't collecting £15,000 a week. They were not finicially secure enough to not be bothered about a pay cut.

The club's lost its soul because of the continuing number of payday players in football, the creation of an almost anti-atmosphere stadium, the high transfer fees we paid nearly destroyed us and the chase of a dream to become a constant European-playing club . We are the ideal standard club to show how modern-day football has taken away a club's identity and a fan's passion.

It's grind down on a fan's passion for his club.

That's one hell of a statement.

Does that mean every manager in the world will turn out to be good if the club keeps them on for long enough?

YES!!!!!!!!!

Sorry Jeff, poor choice but I couldn't be bothered to research big clubs that have disappeared, doesn't make the original point wrong.

Larry's got enough on his plate trying to help a bunch of average players stay up. More to this saga before we start speculation over new managers, although he would be my choice if MM does decide to change. He has done a good job with a very average squad although the team is now eventually being found out (ie keep Hollahan quiet and you will beat them). All this speculaton will cease if the players perform to thier capabilities in our last 3 games. Not looking good but not critical just yet

I would be amazed if Grayson has even registered on Milan's radar to be honest. IMO Larry is too low profile for MM and if the rumours are true that the Mad one is looking to sell the club, then I doubt he will be giving too much consideration to whom should be the next Manager of this club until our fate has been sealed.

Can't think of any team that have disapearred, but teams that have really struggled and have been in the prem within the last 10 years, Bradford and MK Dons(in prem wimbledon) have both ended up in league 2. Then you have the Obv one such as forest and leeds.

Scary thing is it could get worse if we go down much worse.

I'm not scared.
