Sinama-Pongolle to sign on loan Today!

I doubt we'll be getting anyone on loan, let alone Sinama-Pongolle.

If we get a loan player, their club will obviously expect them to play, and CL has made it clear that Connolly and MDV will be his first choice pairing.

CL will pick players on ability, at the moment thats Conners and MDV, if he can sign a striker, loan or not, who he feels is better than one of those two he would start instead.
Loaning a striker IMO is the only way we are going to get anybody half decent , lets say at a push we have 200k, I can not see any striker worth that amount giving us anywhere near the ability we are obviously lacking. But if CL can pull off a deal for that amount I hope he proves me wrong.

I agree, but this is only based on what he's got at the moment. I hope you are not trying to tell me that if Michael Owen decided that he wanted to buy himself for Leicester and only wanted £50 a week in wages then Levein would put him on the bench.

Obviously if he can buy a player then he might change his mind, but my point is I can't see him loaning a player for a year who he would play ahead of Connolly/MDV. He seems to be happy with them as his front two, so I think he'll only be looking for a player to use as backup to those two.
Don't forgot why Connolly left West Ham - they got Neil Mellor on loan and Liverpool insisted he play a certain amount of games, so it meant Connolly didn't play or was out of position.

If Levein can buy a player who is better than our current strikers, then I'm sure he would, but I just doubt that he would get a player on loan and have to leave Connolly or MDV out most of the time.


At the end of the day though, I just hope we can get a decent striker soon, whether that be on loan or a permanent deal, because we desperately need one.

It wasn't a rumour merely an observation! You started the rumour on the Liverpool forum and got them all flustered. And now my head hurts!
