Sky = HDMI
Xbox = Component (std Xbox fittings, they will be in the box) said to be the preferered option for gamers

just came on to do a mini review actually...
Fors:
- Awesome picture quality. even on non HD programmes due to no loss of signal via HDMi.
- Watched Manure v Chelski this arvo, what a difference. Makes watching football on the TV a whole new experience.
- Massive hard drive is a big bonus

Againsts...
- Nowhere near enough HD programmes yet. Most HD channels are just showing the same 4 or 5 programmes on loop.
- Coming through on HDMi means its running through AV4 and my TV wont notice the signal when I turn it on so I have to hunt out the Sony remote to get to SKY hD. Melts are you having this problem?
- The new box's hard drive seems massivley inferior to the originals, skips once you press play after fast forwarding or rewinding. Only a minor point but they should be going forwards not backwards.
- Sound signal seems weaker on HD channels.

Sound quality - Yep, it's quieter for everybody
Skip FF - Yep, i have 1 or 2 problems. Skip forward is jerky and if you FF at x30 and then slow it down to x12 as the programme approaches it doesn't slow down
AV4 - Mine comes through AV4 & AV6, but the tele auto comes onto it. Have you got a Panasonic tele?
Channels - Yep, if I had to choose again I'd subscribe in 6 months time. But, eh.
Quality - If I'm watching a pre record from Sky+ in non HD, every few minutes I'll get a glitch for 1 or 2 seconds that makes it look like it's shot with a different camera (ie 8mm or 35mm) but then it reverts back again. I don't know if this happens when I'm watching live because I never do, I record everything and then skip the adverts.
In general though I'm very happy, just got nowt to watch. In March it will the 1 year anniversary and those that subscribed at the beginning will be cancelling after their minumum 1 year contract if sky don't extractum digit

Its a Sony. Sky comes through the Scart on AV1 and HDMi on AV4. Could you check if your 'scart control' is turned on for me?? think its in services. system setup. picture settings but could be one of the others in there.
