Info I can find says he sold the first bit for £20m and the rest for £32m

I've seen something similar, but the bottom line is that only MM knows. His Pompey shares were probably held through foreign front comapanies, so any figures quoted in the press are, at best, estimates.

please accept the MM bid like his optimisum wanting a premiership return!! If he takes over before christmas we spend a a million or so, and we are around the mid table/play off spot at christmas then surely this will give the belief to the players and the fans we can get promoted this season. Hopefully the likes of Sylla and Andy Johnson will up there game knowing the expectation of this football club will be a lot higher if MM does come to us.

you dont want much do you :icon_lol:

Lets hope M&M wins

With the club something like £25m debt and operating at breakeven, a deal like this is the only prospect for us to get out of our current position where any surplus funds are swallowed by the bank. So its great news.

The fact there is an auction going on is also v. good news as it means that is keeps all the bidders honest - they are all going to have to put in their best offer. I think the shareholders are going to have to be reasonable as any sensible buyer will want the maxium amount of his funds to go into the club he will own rather than to exiting shareholders.

Whether MM is the best bid remains to be seen - he has a reasonable track record at Portsmouth, although he did appoint a director of football over Redknapp that forced him out the first time. Maybe he learned his lesson. As others have said, lets not pretend MM is a fan - we are a club with premiership facilities available at a bargain price. He is in it solely to make a return on his investment - but getting his return will require him to get us into the premiership - and that's a deal I can live with.

I don't think anything will happen.
I can't get excited until it actually happens. I have a strange feeling it will al go tits up.

I was of this mind until I heard the bid had gone in and heard MM talk on TalkSport. He even had a timetable for when hands will be shaken. Stuff the other investors, I think he has been given the nod already from the board.

After being cynical for the past month I am now very excited at the prospect and am allowing myself to be caught up in the ride :038:
