I wonder how many times throughout the season we're going to hear/see the godawful phrase "the promised land"?

Championship play-off final day you hear it well into double figures :icon_bigg

in the same way, it is rare for a side relegated to League One to be promoted back to the Championship the following year

... but 2 teams managed it last season

Play offs at a minimum are a real possibility for this season IMO, I will be happy with consolidation next season too mind...ish.

Northampton were in the top division?! When the **** did that happen?

i rekon, unless we spend big and wisely, we won't get anywhere near the play-offs or the "promise land" this season.....probably end up around 16th, which will be pretty poor.
Milan, get that ****ing cheque book out for the lads!

I know it went pear-shaped after a few months but Hull held their own with the big boys on a 'paupers' budget for that division. I think it is more to do with getting good players playing as a brilliant team. Chelsea have had hundreds of millions over the last few years to buy players and an astronomical salary bill. Spending £50million on a player and giving them a £5million a year salary does not automatically mean you are going to win everything or even anything.

I am sure I saw one these Opta stats things that placed the Prem teams in order of position relative to costs and the highest spending were not at the top!

So ? :102: The truth of the matter is that those did spend are near the top.

Not necessarily, because if the snow is too deep, it wouldnt be that slippy at all, id say it depends on how icy the snow is.

it also depends on how steep the slope is , but if if it was too steep, it wouldnt be called a slope ,it would be called a hill, or a cliff.

Why the obsession with spending big. :102:It doesn't guarantee you anything.
What it can bring is changing room unrest.
Spend wisely, yes, but big, not really.

A slope isn't called something different just because of its steepness. A slope is a slope. If it's a hill over 2000ft, it's a mountain. If it's a small amount of displaced earth on your lawn, it's a molehill. If it's a moustachioed Canadian snooker player, it's a cliff.
