It was a DNS related issue.

The server is fine, but the DNS (at 123-reg.co.uk) has been down.
It's affected loads of other sites too (I have nearly 300 domains using their DNS! - I'm sure there must be tens of thousands affected)

Processor is currently showing as running at over 800% capacity. I'll have a look to see what the problem is.
