Not condoning this whatsoever, but I've seen plenty of others with under-2's fast asleep on their lap/shoulder etc during the game?....many a time in recent seasons, I've felt like joining them.

I too have seen a fair few really young kids being carried around in the family stand - which makes me wonder what kicked this off. Did the scratter start off by demanding to be allowed to take a pushchair in, or something?

My Daughter is three and she loves it. TBH, I'd rather she didn't go sometimes, but she wants to. To me, that isn't "pointless", but I do see your point and maybe others are guilty of just that.

I'm also sure there are plenty of people who can't get babysitters and need to take their kid/s with them. Again, not pointless.

She would probably love going to the cinema or ice skating etc as much.I just don't see how a 3 year old actually knows whats going on and its just an 'occasion' and she gets to spend time with her Dad which is great but in the end its up to the parents, who am I to tell people what and not what to do with their children.

Cinema: no she wouldn't. Ice skating: It would be highly irresponsible for a parent to take a three year old Ice Skating (IMO).

You don't have to "see", but she does know what's going on.
and its just an 'occasion' and she gets to spend time with her Dad
Aye, the same as most days when she "spends time with her Dad"
which is great but in the end its up to the parents,
It's up to me to let her go, but it's up to her she wants to go. If she doesn't want to, she doesn't go. My 5 year old Daughter and my two year old Daughter don't like going, so they don't go.
who am I to tell people what and not what to do with their children.
You're perfectly entitled to your opinion, but please don't try to tell me what my Daughter does and doesn't like doing.

The only thing I find nasty and ludicrous are the idiot parents who would be stupid enough to think that a 5 week old baby would be fine at a football match in near freezing conditions. Only a total tool would consider doing this imo. Thats without mentioning the health & safety aspect of it. It is ridiculous and bad parenting. It seems that showing the new kid off as a fashion accessory or their love of the club seems to be more important than the child.

And on top of all that to expect some form of compensation from the club for their bad decision, get a grip, you were not allowed in on the grounds of Health & Safety simple as.

The parents need to think what could have happened should entry have been allowed, would they be demanding compensation, free travel or a free meal if their 5 week old baby had caught hyperthermia, no they'd have been immediatly seeking legal representation and blaming the club for allowing such a young baby in the ground in the first place.

The club can't win either way. :bang:

When/if you finally have children of your own, you will realise that the real ***** are those who have no understanding of parenthood whatsoever and blindly make ignorant statements such as that
Any man who takes his wife to the football is a **** IMO, let alone a 5 week old baby.

A few have made reference to children under 5, 2 years old, 3 years old etc ... this child was 5 weeks old. I can't think why anyone would want to take their 5 week old child to a football match, and then have the nerve to bang on about not receiving a voucher etc.

What a bunch of sad bastards!

The blokes been a twat on the grounds that it was a very cold day,too cold for an infant of that age. Its a ridiculous scenario, and then for him to court publicity asking for recompense is vulgar beyond belief. No evil child abuser just an ignoramus.

I must be a complete **** then. Still when she drives the "bus" to the game, doesnt have a drink all day and drops the lads off at the pub after fetches us all and takes everybody home I never really feel like one.

So you don't take her, she takes you, which kinda exempts you. My missus takes me and brings me back, but does the decent thing in between.

They made a mistake, a stupid one, a dumb ass one, they and everyone on here knows so. Thick, but ultimately forgivable.

To then shout about it from the rooftops blaming the club for their parenting stupidity in order to get compo is not very clever and rightly are bound to be derised. Twats.

Bet they're both on the jam roll and used their social security money or child benefit to fund their day out...another poor decision!

My other half loves going to the footy, she has a season ticket and uses it as a diversion from her illness on a Saturday afternoon, a couple of hours off from the real world. If, in your eyes, that makes me a **** then fine. However, the fact that you can make such sweeping generalisations makes you a bigger one. :098:

I took a girlfriend to the football once and she cheered when both teams scored
