Brendan Rodgers speaking to BBC Match of the Day:

"We wanted to get the ball back quickly and attack again. A mark of the good sides is you don't let up. We wanted to show we're a good side and we certainly did that in the second half.

"We were ruthlessly simple in our game. When you're so many goals up you can easily slow but we kept focused. We want to be a top team and to be a top team you must be clinical.

That is another thing about Brendan (It's Rodgers) Rodgers is that he wants to keep going for more goals.
Some managers (Sven?) are happy to win 1-0. I want us to try to score another goal, even when we've already scored five. Brendan R. is the same.

Obviously, this is the anniversary of the tragedy that took five lives.

It is also a year since that pitiful performance against West Ham at home where we scraped a point in a miserable, defensive, mind-numbingly dull display.

Thank feck we got rid of that twonk Puel and got a proper manager. These players were always miles better than he allowed them to be. It is great to see us finally prove it.

I’ve seen teams go down to 10 men and fight
I’ve seen teams go down to 10 men and win
I’ve seen teams go down to 10 men and capitulate
However, there is capitulation and there is capitulation
trouble is, next time we play against 10, crowd will be shouting, we want 10
We were ****ing brilliant
Full marks to Pérez andBarnes, they’ve picked the gauntlet up

Having been pretty obsessed with LCFC records and folklore in my youth, it’s incredible to think we were only a goal away from that 10-0 record tonight.

Neville and Carragher we’re getting a bit banterous and jokey while Brendypoos was talking to them and they spotted Chilwell so they called him over and Carragher gave him his microphone while they said something to him , as Chilwell raised the mic to his face he said something ending with ‘....taking the piss! Oops sorry!’

Rodgers looked fuming and mentioned the arrogance of the players in his next answer, dressing it up as a positive I think.

I think that’s what happened anyway I’m quite pissed.
Post watershed so a slapped wrist will do
