Couldn't be more shit if we tried

Truly Awful from Peestain

Cemented in the bottom three.

Can't remember a shot on goal.

Can't see how we are going to score, let alone get a point.

What we were trying to do day is unclear. If it was to keep it to 0-0 then NP has lost the plot.

Deep, deep poo.

You honestly think trying to play for a draw against a free-scoring, no goal conceding team away from home is losing the plot? Especially considering the previous results?

Yes considering our complete failure to do so in all but one league game thus far (I think). At the moment we need to score at least one to draw!

A draw would have been excellent, and we were fighting well to achieve one.

However, the moment we concede a goal is the moment the game is over. We are so hopeless going forward it's unbelievable.

Something drastic needs to change, we are falling into a situation where we are beat before the game has started.

It's six weeks since we beat Man Utd.

What an extraordinary collapse.

Not the slightest glimmer of hope playing like we have since we kicked off against Palace.

We're stinking the league out.

Nobody, but nobody can fail to beat us in this form and with this mentality.

Can NP do anything to sort this out?

For me, he's got the next two weeks on the training ground and the game against Sunderland. If we play as bad and lose again, it's Pulis time.

Our Premier League place is more important than NP or anyone else.

A defensive outlook was necessary today, but some kind of counter-attacking threat must have been possible to muster. We played a diamond at home to Manchester United and that worked because they were utterly shambolic at the back and we gave a once in a season performance. The same formation yielded absolutely nothing last weekend as we looked toothless up front, unable to retain possession and too narrow at the back.

We kept the ball out of the net for an hour today but that was largely thanks to Southampton not playing as well as they can. We let them pepper the box again and again and again and were too restricted by this ****ing stupid formation to give the ball to a winger or pass the ball around midfield to give the defenders any kind of rest. Drinkwater and Ulloa were totally redundant today thanks to Pearson. As a team we were on the backfoot constantly and we had passengers offering nothing thanks to the system in which they were forced to play, it is no where near good enough.

I can take us loosing to better teams, I can handle losses to any opponent in fact and I won't be heartbroken if we go down. I am however completely dismayed at the way we're throwing the towel in currently. I like Pearson but **** knows what he's playing at.

I said it in the match thread but it's worth raising again:

The attacking set pieces are absolutely shit. We are not a threat to score from set pieces at all.

ZERO shots on target. A team which overwhelmed teams last season and gave the top sides a runaround for period at the start of the season has somehow descended into a team which have no attacking belief or danger. After a great start we are easy to play against, work us around the pitch first half and then take advantage in the second.

NP:

Disappointing. Quality of opposition making it difficult for us to get anything from games.

Everybody worked exceptionally hard and we defended set plays exceptionally well.

We've had some promising situations but have got to do better. We're struggling to find fluency.

We're not playing well enough to play our more attacking players. The starters today were the best eleven.

People don't realise the difference in quality at this level. They've got a very good squad and deservedly won the game.

Tough for fans at the moment and it's a bit of a concern for us.

Not concerned about my position. I manage through highs and lows and those decisions are nothing to do with me. I work and that's all there is to it. I'm not going to change how I am and it's irritating when we lose that it's all about managers' positions. I will do what I can to instill the belief in the players to get a result in the next game.

His delivery has no pace. No threat at all from corners.

We have had only one clean sheet (it would be great to have Hamer fit for Sunderland) and toothless strikeforce and no width.

Until we stop shipping goals we are not going to be able to hold out for an away draw.

On current form we will be bottom at Christmas.

Somehow continually chosen over a new signing despite playing with half of a brain. Baffling that one.

I said to my mate at the WBA game that you can almost see him switch off.

Danny Simpson must have done something unspeakable in the back of Top's helicopter.
