im well up for this one three points is a must. my first game of the season, really looking forward to getting down the gateway and having a few pre matchers and stumbling down the watch the boys do the business.

I think alot of people are under estimating Southend......This is a big game for me as most of my family are Southend fans, i used to live there till i was 6 then moved to Mkt Harborough so was brought up with Leicester and remained a fan for the last 24 years. A lot of my family will be sitting in the Southend end so it's going to be nail biteing stuff.....They have a strong small squad who have played together now for 3-4 years, with back to back promotions they are full of confidence and with Freddie Eastwood banging them in.....3-1 against Sunderland last week proves they can compete against the big boys.
It would be nice to think we can win 3 or 4 nill but i think it's going to be a lot closer than we think

I agree with your choice. Everybody seems to be calling for COG but he always does his best work at this level when he comes on as sub midway through the second half. Not effective enough when he starts.

That's a little harsh.. He's only had one start and he scored inside 200 minute...

I think the biggest question is midfield. It's really a toss-up between Hughes, Wesolowski and Williams. If fit i'd go with Wesolowski every time but as he came off again against Macclesfield I would go for Hughes, simply because he scored against Ipswich.

I've only seen maybe one or two actual critics of him on here...the rest, like me, just feel a little more realism is needed about whether he can lead the attack to promotion or not. The guy has made 15 sub appearances, a start against Macclesfield, and an above average loan spell at Rushden. Yet some people seem to make it out like he is the new Shearer & Rooney rolled into one!

I'd love him to score 2 goals as well, by the way :icon_lol: .
