They haven't.

We have said "undisclosed fee" for McAuley, Stearman and Hume - although the teams buying them have been more open about it.

The only thing that worries me is that the exodus could be asset-stripping prior to insolvency...

You're more pessimistic than the most pessimistic person I've ever met.

Barnsley have publicised the fee for Hume because they want to show their fans they're spending money to generate some optimism and ticket sales.

Leicester don't want the fees publicised because fans will expect all the money raised to be spent on new players, which won't happen.

All three of the players that have just gone are three of our longest serving players. While it may have not been their fault, they were here for almost the full duration of our decline and played their part. For this, I'm glad they've gone.

And now was the last opportunity we had to get any money for them. Free agents at the end of the season and able to walk away for nothing - and less face it, if they had had any on-field value to us, we would not be where we are now.

Good business.

I must confess to only knowing three Barnsley fans. The one I have spoken to is horrified that they spent that much money on Iain Hume.

:038: Agree 100%, although I never new their contracts were up for renewal. I have no reason to question you, so an even better bit of business IMO.

I think any fan with any common sense would realise that we are not now able to spend these amounts on players. It would be the economy of the mad-house.

i agree and they played a major part in taking us to the point where we find ourselves now

They're probably not - I made that bit up. Doesn't hide the fact that they had to go though - and there will be more to follow.

So every team who was relegated last season should sell their best players because they were responsible for taking them down.I wonder if Derby fans feel like that about Giles Barnes and Reading fans feel that way about Kevin Doyle etc etc

Your reputation has gone right out the window now :icon_lol:

Behave! You saying that hasn't occurred to you as a possibility?

Whenever have I ever behaved? - you can't expect me to now either. I have not the slightest doubt that your suggestion is not a possibility.
