Agreed. I've posted this before but people are being too harsh on Clemence. He underperformed like every member of the squad in our relegation season.
Unlike Fryatt, Howard, Oakley et al he didn't have this season to re-establish his reputation. If his fitness means he won't return or if he does he'll be below par it'll be a great loss for the club. He certainly doesn't deserve the derision.
I disagree. Clemence was a major factor in our relegation in 2008. His complete inability to ever find a teammate with his passing meant we were giving the ball away every few seconds, he didn't seem capable of leading the side, and quite frankly he didn't look that interested. Maybe it was partly Allen's fault, maybe Milan's, maybe one of the other 67 managers we had that season, but I don't think anyone's been overly harsh.
