Jones'? :102:

(sorry to leap on the pedantry vs. Kingy bandwagon)

For the record, I thought Matt Jones was excellent the handful of times I saw him play.

And didn't he do us a favour by waiving his right to wages when he got injured? I may have made this up.

I thought he was amongst our poorest value buys ever - and there have been plenty of those.

However, to be fair, his injuries never allowed him a decent chance.

He certainly turned out to be terrible value, but I thought he looked a really good player when he was fit. It didn't help that he was automatically compared to Lennon.

Im sorry but seriously what the feck is that :icon_lol:

Pun, n - the use of words or phrases to exploit ambiguities and innuendoes in their meaning, usually for humorous effect.

Note that the definition only states that it's usually for humorous effect. In this instance, I opted for the totally unhumorous "pun". We can't all have the comedy instincts of homer!

No, Jones'.

I actually think that both are acceptable, but I don't like your version!

Both are acceptable but in different contexts. (At least, I believe this to be the case)

Jones's means belonging to a singular Jones (as in the current discussion).

Jones' means belonging to lots of people, all called Jone. (So would be incorrent in the context of the current discussion).
