So sorry if I've missed this, but what's the ETA on him? Is he out indefinitely?

Hughesy does seem to have a lot of niggling injuries. We really could do with him getting fully fit by the time they come back from internationals and get a run of games together

I agree. It will hopefully mean the end of Williams. I dont think I can stand many more of his pathetic displays, he was utter dog shit yesterday. When we signed him I thought we had got a quality player, sadly he has been below average at best.

**** off back to forest.

Thought Tiatto was excellent IN THE MIDDLE when he came on yesterday. Hopefully CL will see this and use him in his more suited postion.

i was impressed to see (on the OS) that williams was satisfied with the point yesterday, great! and there was me thinking he didnt give a shit. fair play to the lad though he stayed past half time this game......wanker

Yes, it's a shame about Williams as he looks good at times. To be fair he would probably be a useful player to have in the squad but he obviously is not going to be satisfied with that

Firstly, I think that both Williams and Hughes have looked below par especially when playing centrally in a conventional 2 man midfield, however Williams has looked better in a 3 and I am fairly confident that given the opportunity Hughes would perform better and influence the game more in a similar role. For me neither player is strong enough defensively or possess the physical strength required to play in a 2 man midfield.

IMO Williams playing style is not suited to the hustle and bustle of British football unless he can operate as a deep lying playmaker in a 3 man midfield, otherwise for me he is more suited to the continental style of football, he is a technically gifted player, who has decent vision and a good range of passing and I honestly believe he would do well in any of the French, Italian or Spanish leagues, although I am talking mid table to lower half sides, I am in no way saying he could play for Madrid, Juve or Barca.

As for Hughes, he needs to bulk up, as at present he is too lightweight to play centrally in a 4 man midfield, but neither is he a wideman, so he needs to add more steel to his game before he can be a truly effective central midfielder in the English game. But he would be very effective in the 3 man midfield that CL has been operating with in some of the recent away games.

I want to see Hughes and Kisnorbo as a midfield pair for a few games before I pass judgement.

Should be our strongest pairing IMO Alex.

Agreed and then when he's back hopefully Wesolowski will be pressing them if he's as good as we hope he is.

He was as good HF, lets just hope he still is!!

I've never seen him play DF,is he a Muzzy type or a Lennon type ...or both;) ?

He puts his foot in, is useful on the ball and his passing is excellent. A busy player, more Lennon than Izzet.

dont know about his football but he must be getting good at snooker - he's always in rileys now. he looks a good strong lad about the same height as gudjohnson. hopefully he shows as much commitment as joey.

As for williams i disagree with most people in this thread, he is a quality player that needs the freedom of having a goood strong battler behind him. when going forward williams is very good. he'll never be flying into tackles but he'll provide the quality at the other end of the field. he just needs some freedom.

rotating him & hughes would be the best bet given Hughes' proneness to injury

Talking of proneness to injury, how is me old "sorry not today boss" Morris doing, anyone heard???? anyone remember him????
