Weslowski?

I appreciate an experienced player to come in and relieve the lad maybe needed but after seeing him play i don't think we'll get anyone better.

I agree but even if he had not been injured we need cover because the strongest of players in that area get injuries and injuries. Hopefully James will have an injury free season and establish himself but we can't back on him being constantly available.

I think we need a midfielder alongside Wesolowski, somebody who can get stuck in, but is capable of getting forward and scoring a few goals in the Graham Kavanagh type mould, a player who is effective at this level and prepared to dig in when the going gets tough, in Williams and Hughes, we have two talented but lightweight central midfielders, who are not physical enough to be effective in a 2 man central midfield, IMO to truly get the best out of Hughes and Williams it would have to be as part of a 3 man midfield and I dont believe RK will change formation.

Burnley land Crewe striker Jones

Burnley have clinched the signing of Crewe Alexandra striker Steve Jones.

The Northern Ireland international, 29, has agreed a three-year contract at Turf Moor after reaching the end of his current deal at Crewe.

"We are delighted to have agreed a deal for Steve, who I think will be one of the best Bosman signings of the summer," boss Steve Cotterill said.

"He is a great lad who possesses great pace and I feel we could have done with that this season."
