I know that this was mentioned in his recent interview with THE FOX, but I wonder if it was just a joke that he was having. It really is a long time after the end of his career (in book-selling terms) and publishers won't do books that are not going to sell.

He also mentioned it on an interview with BBC's Football focus when they were doing the legends thing, and Soccer AM last season.

If Birch did one then Walshy can do one. It wouldn't be a big seller, sure, but a limited print run and distribution mainly in the Leicester area would make it worthwhile for a specialist publisher. Polar (Fossils publisher), perhaps?

he wrote one ages ago, his autobiography was quite a fun read, espically the piss up nights before matches etc very amusing . cant remember the name of it. Good book though
