Stop homer - it's impossible, it's like trying to stop evolution.

That is a non-sequitur. :smt018

Keep your sequins out of this one Steven. They are dazzling.

Evolution has a number of meanings, including "the process of developing"

So Joe's comments could be "like trying to stop the process of developing"

How is that a non-sequitur ?

I am under the impression evolution is not a continuous, linear activity for all fauna and flora. Moreover the "the process of developing" man-made artefacts is also open to cessation. Thus the statement is a non-sequitur. :D :D  ;-)

I'd argue that the statement is both sequitur and non-sequitur, but then I always argue about sequitur things, like old Murray Walker when Damon Jack'n'Jill was rammed by that footwear manufacturer. Ohh! Look at that, LOOK AT THAT! Non-sequitur, Sequitur schuey!

The Good Lord Almighty made us and the animals and the earth in the 7 days. Well 6 and the one for the resting.

Can we track the IP and ban this person forever and the original poster should do seven days hard labour. :D :D  ;-)

Why was he resting? Surely snooker hadn't been invented.

It would seem that I have been using the American spelling for some time. :-( :-( Thank you for pointing that out Homer and let me reassure you that I will from now use the English spelling as I am appaled. :D :D  ;-)

Happy to oblige, Steven

Appalled is still the required option, rather than appaled. From the OED:

appal
(US appall)

• verb (appalled, appalling) 1 greatly dismay or horrify. 2 (appalling) informal very bad or displeasing.

— DERIVATIVES appallingly adverb.

I am all over the shop on discovering I have been using an American spelling. :-( :-(

Well you should have been paying more attention to your English classes, instead of bunking off to play a few extra games of chess
