My first match of the season, (like Alex with the Sunderland fans), I thought we played OK looking for a point, but undone again by a corner, and sloppy marking in the box.
Something is clearly not right with the team. Mahrez was totally isolated on the right flank for much of the game, showed little interest going forward. Slimani was poor throughout, poor control and even worse passing. We should have controlled the game but allowed Sunderland to close us down and boss the midfield.
Does anyone know where i can find players match stats?

Yes, but with WWII looming, they probably had other things on their mind - What's our excuse?

WWIII if some on here and FT have their way. Ron-Robert v The Rest.

david Moyes

"They have got players to come back as well, the goalkeeper, and they are without Drinkwater who is influential for them, and who they missed today.

"I would settle for being two points behind the champions at the end of the season."

And I think that's true.

Bit of a disturbing viewpoint from Fuchs in the post-match interview which might indicate some of what's wrong with some of our players. Aside from the fact we clearly weren't the better team he seems to think it's genuinely a case of waiting for our luck to turn. Fair enough we probably aren't getting the rub of the green this year but luck has a proven habit of going for you when you're up, and going against you when you're down. Oh well, we're going down and we don't care - we're the Champions of England!
