Anyone bothering?

Much prefer a 'showcase' friendly like this than Vallalolid but I am still unsure of going.

Sunderland appear to be attempting outnumber City support, they have been sold tickets right around to P1 and behind the goal.

Personally reckon we'll struggle heavily and it will be the constant subs made by Sunderland which avoid it being more than a two goal lead.

It'll be your last for another 8 years I bet. Terrible games for the spectator.

crnic should feature even if not signed (hes a free agent), no injuries and good passing football are the priorities

Got six tickets for us and 4 grandchildren. Hoping to see two things. Firstly has Sousa really eliminated hoofball, including from Weale and Logan. Secondly, can we pass it around against a decent team and not look like idiots?

Love this sudden thing that we played hoofball last season. Direct yes but long boots from the full back...evident from Adams and Levein era.

OK, long headers from Hobbs and Brown then, and lots of head tennis in the middle of the park.

not got my ticket yet but i'll be there

The Sunderland lads are here apparently, my mate works at the training ground and he's just met Steve Bruce, apparently we're letting them train there tonight before tomorrow's match.

I am looking forward to the match although it will lack the edge of a competitive match.

Over the years I have occasionally missed a home match when it has been unavoidable (different country) but I have missed it. I have sat in Vienna listening to a woman who sang like an angel and wondered how the lads were doing at the Walkers.

I enjoy everything about the matchday experience: the first sight of the pitch, the post horn and of course the football. Sadly because it is not on the season ticket I will miss the camaraderie where I usually sit (some blighter has nabbed my seat) but unlike matches in January I will not suffer from the cold.

Last season against Valladolid there was the bonus of seeing new players like Wellens, Weale, Dany and Neilson - we did not then realise how poor Neilson would be. In fact the player that most impressed me against Real was Luke O'Neal. The lack of new signings makes this less interesting. However, the new style of football should be fascinating.

Anyway summer is wonderful - my favourite season - but I do like to have real live football as well. By "live" football I mean watching real players not pixels on a screen.

There are those who reading this will be muttering "Blue Mongie". I have noticed that when people criticize me they are usually right and I have long accepted this blemish on my character.
