Re: Sunderland Match Thread

The 'R' word is looming large again and such is the complete lack of quality in the squad and lead by one of the most uninspiring managers i've ever known us to have, i'm starting to think that only MM can save us from league 1.

I hate this sack the manager business after a couple of defeats, but i'm afraid i'm going to start to join that brigade. We need inspiration and imagination from our manager, i feel that RK is completly incapable of providing either. Our situation is as dark now as its been at any time with this current set-up. If anyone thinks that this is the usual after match rant then refer to my comments after we beat Barnsley which were of a critical nature. The state our club is in is shocking.

Tonight I'm angry, very, very angry.

I walked out of the game today even before Connolly had hit it. I saw ALL of our team stand and watch their player running towards our goal with the ball. Not 1, or 2, but ALL of them. At this point I walked. If they can't be bothered, I certainly can't.

Hume on the bench?

Kelly out and now!!!

I'm not just pissed off, I'm angry. I need reasons to keep going to these games and I'm rapidly running out of them.

Our two best players today were Henderson and Connolly, without these two it would have been 5 or 6 nil

Pathetic

Taggs gives it the "Kelly will be working hard on the training ground routine" :icon_roll Sorry Gerry I have heard it all before. :icon_conf :icon_conf

Connolly plays for them, not us ;)

Unless you meant it in terms of Connolly missed a hatful of easy chances and I'm just missing the joke...

Message to the board/shareholders:

Sell up and get rid of this club now before it gets rid of you

Henderson was sensational today. I felt sorry for him. The rest of the team were abysmal, pathetic.

Stearman was shit, probably due to the fact he was in Mcdonalds this morning ordering 3 Bacon Mcmuffin meals.

Henderson made some top saves again today, the rest didn't seem bothered today. Cadamarteri I thought did well when he came on.

Well until today I was of the opinion that we should stick with Kelly, but they were shit and we were shitter... you can see that some of our individual players have got some decent skill but theres just no cohesion or movement, all our attacking play ended up going backwards and the dithereing on the ball around our own area was appalling.

we definitly need a change of manager but I wont join in with any 'kelly out' chants, we have to remember it was the fans who pretty much demanded the board appoint him, when he had no managerial experience. Also I think its disrespectful to the man who saved our arses last season.

I think there are positives to take.

These holiday fixtures have acted as a jolt to those deluded souls who thought that an inadequate manager and a a squad without motivation or organisation could find a warm comfort in the lower reaches of this crappy division - without actually being in danger of relegation.

Kelly is in a very unfair position because the weakest board in the history of LCFC is just letting the whole thing flounder.

Now is an opportunity for them to recognise that the game is up; they should sell up for next to nothing because the alternative will be to sell up for nothing and let someone else start to introduce some leadership.

I think that there is a realisation coming through that MM is not needed so much for his money, but for offering some sense of direction. O.K. his record is hardly one of continuous success, but does anyone seriously think we would be better off with the present set-up? The scenario without MM looks something like sell off those players that could fetch a fee - and balance the books; further deterioration in the on field performances and further loss of revenue so sell off the training ground - and balance the books etc etc. All this perhaps accompanied by the ultimate triumph of the FT having a place on the board!!

No thanks - time to move on for the board and the management.

Taggs coaches the under 14s, does some scouting and other work for the club all for free becuase we have in his words "no funding".

Not sure about the R word looming but the A word certainly is if the board can't get their act together soon!
