Hardly surprising that a bloke who hasn't played regular football in over a year and just went through 120 minutes in midweek isn't being considered.

I'm all for some changes as well, but the extra time on Wednesday will mean, for better or worse, changes will be minimal.

Would you want Gray to start though? I would. Both he and Albrighton played a full part on Weds.

I'd start Gray and tell him to go for it, and accept he may only last 45 minutes.

Benalouane looked reasonable against the equivalent of a league one striker. Why we are suddenly yearning for him to start is a puzzle to me. Yes Morgan and Huth have been poor but they know the league and what is required. For me, their poor performances are a reflection of a lack of confidence throughout the side. In my opinion the main issues in terms of starting places should surround Chilwell at full-back and Gray on the wing.

I predict Claudio to play the following tomorrow (I have placed my preferences in brackets):

Schmeichel

Fuchs (Chilwell)
Huth
Morgan
Simpson

Albrighton (Gray)
Ndidi
Drinkwater
Mahrez

Vardy
Okazaki (Slimani)

As little as you think of Derby, I'm pretty convinced their 'league one' strikers (however you've come to this bizarre conclusion) would have had a far easier time against Morgan and Huth than they did against Benny and Was.

The 'yearning' for Benny (or Amartey for that matter) to start isn't sudden at all, many posters have been suggesting it for weeks. The fact he looked far more organised than either Huth or Morgan have this season, regardless of what you may think about the opposition, only reinforces the clamour for him to be involved in some way, rather than create it.

I genuinely cannot believe you'd be happy to see both Morgan and Huth reinstated as a central defensive partnership after weeks and weeks of inefficient, mistake ridden performances which have gifted a plethora of goals to opposition forwards.

I'd be happy to see Morgan and Huth again but I would like to see Amartey replace one of them at some point but not when we are away from home against a relegation rival.

I would suggest that is exactly the time to change it. Why would we go in to such a massive game with 2 defenders who have proven time and again that they have forgotten how to defend?

Because I believe they will come good.

Benalouane was hardly accomplished against Derby. His positional sense was suspect and he looked a little loose in possession. All this against a second string Derby.
Politely disagree

I do. But that's because we can't score for toffee.
Not scoring shouldn't mean a loss.

Its not been working for so long now, what makes you think they will suddenly come good?

They aren't just defending badly, they are calamitous, not changing them is absolutely criminal.

Any good feeling generated is more than likely going to be obliterated.

Feel sorry for Benny, he clearly feels well enough to be involved.

I can understand Benny not starting here because of playing 120 mins midweek after not having a full game in the first team in a long while.

But can understand his frustrations at being left out of the squad.

Hopefully he'll get his chance in the first team soon. Or if he doesn't, it's because Huth and Morgan improve dramatically and quickly!

I'm going to hazard a guess that Benny has attended more than one training session this season - and that none of this contributes to him not being included to start.

Caludio for the love of this club make some changes.

Amartey has to come in at CB, Fuchs dropped for Chilwell and Vardy nowhere near the starting 11. Would King (playing his #10) behind Slimani, a CM of Ndidi and Mendy with Gray and Mahrez running the channels be so bad?

Same team and performance and sadly the axe will be swinging.

Pearson at the game today apparently. Guest of the owners.
