I would be happy with Amartey and Chilwell at full back, Drinkwater or Mendy alongside Ndidi with Gray, Mahrez and Albrighton as the support to Slimani in attack. Changing the full backs will give us better stability and I think could solve our defensive frailties.

I think Simpson is good enough to keep his starting place. Chilwell for Fuchs. Gray and Mahrez on the wings. Slimani up top. Okazaki in front of Mendy and Ndidi. Amartez to come on later as a replacement CB of for Mendy or Simpson depending on Swansea strategy/strengths.

I don't!

I would prefer mine to only be paid £120,000 a year not a week for doing something that a lot of ordinary people can do reasonably well!

Football is not in the same value league as brain surgery, it is just entertainment.

I like my fullbacks to get within 5 yards of the attacker to stop them crossing the ball.

He doesnt do that as often as you'd like.

I wouldnt flinch if the entire back 4 were dropped.

Obviously it will be the same old lineup today though

Simpson is the best of our back 4. Admittedly that doesn't take a lot, but it would be harsh if he's the one to be dropped out of them.

Was also massively unsung part of our success last year I felt. Has to do more defensive work than Fuchs as he has Mahrez in front of him (not a criticism of Riyad, just that Albrighton covers more in defence)

Quite a lot of us did.

I don't recall to seeing many posts about it last season.

I would have thought they'd have been loads in that case, especially from those who love to seek attention.

For me he's part of the problem not the solution. As soon as he's put under pressure he loses his ability to pass forward.
Agreed, which puts our fragile defence under constant pressure.

I'd like to see Slimani starting. He might have missed a sitter in midweek but he's the most dangerous striker we have in the air.

FWIW,

Schmeichel
Simpson, Morgan, Huth, Chilwell
Amartey, Ndidi
Albrighton, Mahrez, Gray
Slimani.

And for those who saw that post before it was edited, obviously I changed it because you'd rather have your 'keeper in the goal, not on the rear right corner flag.
