Sylla has to weigh up his options for national calls
City winger Momo Sylla faces a tough decision next month, the usual classic of club versus country.
He is sure to be selected in the Guinea squad for the African Nations Cup which starts in Egypt on January 20, but Sylla has not yet said whether he will go or stay to play with City in a vital part of the season.
Sylla pulled out of a previous African Nations squad, under a former national team manager, and faced a lot of pressure following that decision. But that is a risk he might take again.
Sylla said: "I thought the decision before, which put a lot of pressure on me and my family, might have meant that I did not get another chance. But I have been told I will be selected for this year's competition.
"It is a big honour to play in the competition and I do not know if I will get another chance but I have still not decided what to do. It depends on how Leicester are doing.
"I do not want to go and let everyone here down if the team are not doing well.
"I enjoy playing for Leicester and want to do well for them, but I want my country to do well in Egypt too."
Sylla's skills have been a hallmark of a lot of City's good play in recent weeks and, with boss Craig Levein believing his midfield four are settling into a strong combination, the loss of the former Celtic wideman would mean a loss of continuity.
And until the picture becomes clearer, City can only wait and hope.
