No - but they are here.

See if you can spot the people who look like football people:

Just noticed this from the Sky Sports report about the takeover. I appreciate what the League want to do and I believe that all clubs should be run in profit (or at least break even) but surely unless the Premier League are following the same guidelines, this can only make the gap between the Championship and Premier League even bigger.

From April 2011, clubs must provide 'future financial information' relating to the subsequent season and provide information showing they owe no money in overdue transfer fees and employee wages

Clubs in default or clubs with business plans that cast doubt on their ability to fulfil any fixtures or pay football creditors will be required to submit to budget constraints including possibility of transfer embargo

maybe, maybe not.

I think hull would have failed this new rule on their relegation and had a transfer embargo slapped on them as a result.

Surely the rule is specific to transfer fees & wages and the ability to pay them, nothing to do with the source of that finance- it does not say it cannot be funded by further loans etc

The key word there is overdue - no club should have debts that are (significantly) overdue.

Agreed, but if a Premier League club can have overdue debts and a football league club can't then it can only make the gap bigger. Its great that the FL are trying to clean up the poor finances of clubs but surely the PL should do the same.
