what the feck is going on ? grown men taking pictures of flowers...and then showing them off.don't tell me..you were wearing a pretty dress when you took them...queer hawks the lot of you
 
We often have a pair of woodpeckers feeding in our garden but this week they brought their youngsters with them. We had one parent and three juveniles at the same time today.

A shame that the missus hasn't got the DesertFox knack of photography.

We've only had baby sparows and starlings so far.

It is the Greater Spotted flavour! We've had a few generations over the last couple of years here. It's great.

Oh I wish!

Every time I grab hold of the camera the birds sense it and shoot off to the woods! The missus has a better rapport with them.

This morning we were woken by the distressing sounds of terror and panic (in woodpecker speak) when two magpies attacked a juvenile woodpecker. We think it escaped but there are a few feathers on the lawn.
