An earlier post suggested that licences to sell products was issued by the elected government which I believe is correct. These licences went to people who had supported which ever political party had been elected to power. However I believe that King Power given their place in Thai society and endorsement by the King will not be effected. I am not a political analyst but basically one party is supported by the rural community and working people, the other by those who are rich and influential based mainly in the cities, the latter are complaining that the PM is corrupt and have been galvanising protests, there have been counter protests by those who support the former and the incumbent PM, this has been going on for months and become steadily more violent. The military have staged their coup to bring this stand off to a close, I have no doubt that in due course when things have calmed down there will be fresh elections, in the mean time political activities are suspended.

Whether or not the army/monarchy is going to be nice to our owners is somewhat immaterial, this situation is hardly stable and everything could move south very quickly from here.

Stuff King Power - what's happening to the ladyboys in all this shenanigans ?
