To be fair, failure in the Prem is preferable to what Nottingham Forest have to endure at the minute. As far as I see it, getting relegated doesn't bother me in terms of playing in the Championship again but we are in big trouble if we get relegated due to the vastly increased wages of some players after last year's success - i.e. in football terms I doubt anyone will be that bothered, but in financial terms it could put the club in shit hot water?

You're right, it doesn't add up. I can appreciate that players might have some concerns about latest tinkerings but that doesn't equate to mutiny. They're pros and have been very used, I'm sure, to having to play in different ways over the course of their careers.

My suspicion (because, in honesty, we can't possibly know from the outside) is that players, manager and staff alike are all as dumbfounded as us as to why it's happening. I don't accept for a moment that the players have decided to take it easy and take the pay cheques. That they aren't giving as much as last season, sure that's there to be seen, but as to WHY...

That's why I say to give CR time to turn it around. He tried his formation changes, that didn't work and, fair does, he has accepted that. Now he has to start getting into the player's heads (maybe only some key players too) and re-energise them. Whether he does that by dropping players, bringing in new faces (and let's face it, he's not blessed with options - we don't have a 'top 6' quality squad) or by talking, I don't know. That's why he's a manager and I'm not. Suffice it to say that I've not reached the end of my patience with him yet.

Good post Yak. The only reason he is tinkering is because the players for the most part are failing him miserably.

I really can't understand the total lack of putting a shift in at the moment, said players should be ****ing ashamed of themselves.

If they don't want to play for our current manager - **** off and leave our club in peace.

Tossers.

Spoken like someone who rarely visits the stadium.

Getting relegated would be a ****ing disaster, Championship football is awful. I would be VERY bothered.

Whats happening is really baffling.

Last season with almost the same team even when we couldnt defend we were scoring goals for fun, in addition when we started games badly claudio read the game very well and made tactical changes which got us back into games.

This season we are really struggling to score and he seems lost on tactics.

Obviously our goals conceded also isnt helping but when you cannot score and create then conceding is only the difference between drawing and losing.

As expected without mahrez nothing improved, I said before he is been made a scapegoat for what is much bigger problems.

We are really in danger which I knew in novemeber but not many fans came around, now I think people are realising relegation is a real threat.

Swansea and hull both have new managers. Likewise palace who have big sam.

Burnley have very good home form although have an away record comparable to ours.
Watford are struggling.

Burnley and watford do have 3 and 5 points over us tho. I cannot see us beating burnley away.

To add (sorry cannot edit my post).

A pattern now in almost every game is when we have the ball we get closed down quickly, then our players panic and do a bad pass, when the opposition has the ball we sit back and get pinned in our defensive third. Why we think this is good enough I dont know.

I watched Hull at Chelsea yesterday and the difference between them and us was profound. Yes, they were overrun but they put in a very creditable performance. Swanea's win at Anfield might be the start of things for them but, on the other hand, we beat Man City so swallows and summers.

I have to say though, I now do think we're more in the shit than I previously would have let myself say.

Of course he shouldn't go.

He isn't the reason that we're playing badly. His formations are not the reason we're playing badly.

Too many players sat back on their laurels after last season, haven't put the work in, are enjoying their increased salary and celebrity and simply don't have the will to put the necessary work in during games (and I suppose training). CR cannot replace them all because we simply don't have the players to do it and I'm sure he really believes that they'll come round.

I can't think of one player from last season's team that this doesn't apply to.

Maybe Kasper, maybe Huth.

The only players to put in the required effort this season are players who were fringe squad players or in other teams last season.
The only player playing at the same level as he did last year is Kante!!

Maybe so, but if Kante was playing for us now, I bet he wouldn't be.

Hence why he's the smart one for leaving. He recognised that nothing he did with Leicester this season would top last season.

Those new managers are doing so well... (Swansea's is doing acceptably well I'll admit).

Sick of these negative horseshit comments like 'hes the smart one for leaving as nothing will top last year with us'.. some Leicester fan! A lot of things coming from the pros signify what's wrong, they got too much too soon, no desire any more, not working hard enough etc etc and Ranieri is too nice to do anything about it. The only option I can see to turn this around is that Ranieri gets the boot.. fresh slate to stop the rot. Ranieri doesn't seem to know how.

Why don't the "pros" have any desire any more? Because they've realised nothing will top last season?

So you've criticised me and then practically made the same comment.

I watched that game too and I have seen a couple of their other games this year. They haven't been playing badly even under Phelan and haven't been completely outplayed. The situation is eerily similar to two years ago, only with the roles reversed.

You're just backing yourself up with you own bullshit opinion! Lol. IMO it's more a case of the fact they are now on far better salaries and think they don't have to work as hard any more. Maybe not. Either way it's as plausible an explanation as what you've come up with.

So let me get this right. My opinion is bullshit, but your opinion is as plausible as my opinion. So that means your opinion is bullshit as well?

Glad that's cleared up.

Geoff peters is a tit.

I, like presumably many others on this forum, have met Geoff. I wouldn't call him a tit. In fact, I found him a very personable chap. His opinion is worth no more than yours nor mine, which is something he would probably agree with. He has perhaps just a more visible profile than most of us, and is maybe better connected than many of us. He maintains the former courtesy of the latter but it doesn't make him right. He's just as prone to talking opinionated bollocks as the rest of us!
