getting the police involved can have it's positive side. If they hadn't prosecuted Duncan Ferguson we would have been denied the pleasure of chanting "Barlinnie reject" at him whenever he came on for Everton.

Nasty challenge and he deserves a ban, but it looked to me like he meant to go into Mendes' shoulder. As for police, course they should have a look, the law isn't suspended just because people are watching a footy match. If some nut job removes his boot and beats another player to death on the centre spot, its still a crime punishable by a court of law as well as 3 game ban.
