I spoke to Martin George at a youth team match at Belvoir drive many years ago, I was impressed by how much he knew about the players.

I would like to see Martin George take a more active role within the club, I agree football is big business and therefore requires experienced businessmen to successfully run the financial and commercial aspects, however it also requires experienced football people alongside, that is why I would like to see Martin George return to assist in the running of the football side of the business.

I actually have little problem with the current set up of the board, at the end of the day they are the people who put their money where there mouths were and saved our club from extinction, with experienced business professionals now in charge of our club, I am reasonably comfortable that the finances and commercial aspects of the club will now be managed as a business, and not as it was under Elsom, however I do believe that as there is little or no football people on the current board or involved in the day to day running of the club, that may well be the weakness, I feel that the club as yet has failed to manage the PR and Media elements of the business, this is where Martin George's experience would be invaluable.

I believe (90% sure) he is involved in an advisory capacity and would certainly be asked to be involved in any appointment of a new manager.

Its certainly not the case that just because he isn't on the board anymore that he doesn't have any influence or sway. I think the only reason he's not a board member is because on boards like this and public opinion at the time of the takeover was that the fans didn't want to see the same old faces on this board as before.

I have to say this is typical of support for Leicester, they ask for something and get it, then decide its not right and complain and moan, forgetting they were the ones that instigated the change in the first place.

(thats not directed at you in particular).

Do you really think being a non-executive director of a football club opens any doors that are not already open to the CEO of Cable and Wireless?

Have another read of my post, I suggested "the others" and had already listed GC above.

Do you really think that Tim Davies runs the club all on his own?

No - he does not, I dare say he had lots of middle management and junior staff who all report directly to him. The whole basis of sound governance is not to leave one exec with the over-riding power and influence to make all decisions unchecked, I'm suggesting with the current structure of the board he may not be getting the support he may desperately need that we would expect from conventional Exec Directors.

Do you really think that the 'people of Leicester' are the best guardians of the Club, when they can't even agree on the simplest of things in this and similar forums?

Quite right and I didn't mean this literally (as I'm sure Jon Holmes didn't at the time); but I'm sure he had a vision of greater participation (whether that came via the FT at the time or elsewhere) and perhaps someone fan were able relate to as part of the board structure. I’m not sure what Jon was getting at by saying what he did.

Do you really have any idea what you're talking about or are you just ranting?
What do you want me to say? That I don't know what I'm talking about and I felt like having a rant. Hows that?

blue No - he does not said:
TD is the face of the club because he is trained in PR and used to facing the cameras etc. Again you 'suggest' that he lacks support but you have no evidence to back this claim and I would suggest that its part of his job to be the voice and face of the board, especially now Macey's gone.

Jon Holmes said that to win support for the takeover, it was a PR stunt to win fans over to his bid just as the Fosse/City thing was to generate interest and positive media for the club.

In your initial post to this thread you said that you were "close to the Club at the time of administration". You also mentioned "the farce of the agenda of the first meeting of the New Fox board" - not something which every 'average fan' has an awareness of.

It might help us if you said who you are, instead of hiding behind the 'blue' handle. We might then be able to judge whether you have another agenda which is not so obviously deduced from your rant.

Its Barry Pierpoint or John Elsom

No it's not.

JF - Thanks for clearing it up for Dunc

Guys - I don't have an agenda - I'm just telling it as I read it - same as you are, it just so happens its a different interpretation.

If blue wants to keep his identity to himself that's fair enough - but he's not one of the 'big names' that have been suggested.

But I can confirm that what he said about being close to the club at the time of administration is true.

Webbo didn't clear anything up in responding to what was so obviously a joke from Dunc. It is still as unclear as it ever was.

What did I clear up?

Is Blue the washing lady that was going to be sacked from the training ground until the players had a whip round? :102:

Of course it's OK for posters to keep their identities secret if they so desire. But in this case it might be helpful to know whether blue is somebody who was thwarted when the new club was set up or whether he has just grown to be uneasy about the situation as it has gone on. He clearly isn't the 'average fan' and I am surprised that he would appear to want to hide behind a pseudonym.

Maybe he's using a pseudonym in case his boss finds out!

It's not someone who had loads of money to put into the club, just someone who was around at the time and did some valuable work.

Sooner they get Jon Holmes involved again and shaking them all by the scruff of the neck the better.

He should have remained a major player in the club's future.

Is he not? I thought he had stopped agency work to committ more time to us, have I got that completely wrong?

Yes, you have! He couldn't be involved with us whilst with the agency because of possible conflicts of interest.
