That said Jeff, you are supposed to lead by example. Not necessarily applicable to Newton, but the inability to spell could be a result of a medical condition, or a disrupted childhood and should not be a source of permanent ridicule. IMHO.

Lots of people get the piss taken out of them for lots of reasons, and usually it's done in a friendly way. I don't think any of the ribbing Newts has got for his typing has been malicious or abusive. I was under the impression he'd always taken it in the way it was intended. As I said earlier I wouldn't have done it if I thought he'd been offended and I apologised as soon as I realised he did find it offensive.

I used to correct spelling mistakes all the time, because I genuinely thought I was being helpful by educating people. I don't do it much now because I've realised people rarely learn from it and they think you're just taking the piss.
