Victory at Forest would allow Megson to end a 52-year curse that has hung over the City hot seat, with no manager winning his first match in charge since David Halliday in 1955.

We're fecked then!

I am stuck in rainy Perth, Australia, so good luck to all those that are going tonight - I hope we get that overdue win at the home of the trees and I wake up to good news

Mego's (Copper Knobs) Blue & White Army!

I think he might have claimed that one if we'd hung on against QPR!

Tonight has gone from a game that Martin Allen felt to be of little significance, to a crucial litmus test of where our season will go.

We will see how the team react to Megson. We'll get some idea as to his tactics and squad preferences and most importantly, if he can produce a convincing victory, he'll earn a bit more time from the critical fans. Any other result, and it is going to be a long season.

I don't think it's that important, to be honest

It's just a chance for Ginger Flaps to have another look at his squad against a pretty shite League One side

It is the league that is important this year, and only the league

The Stoke game will be the 'litmus test' of how he genuinely sets out his team (the Charlton game being a complete bastard of a game IMO, where we would be happy with a dull boring point)

ginger flaps :icon_lol::icon_lol: im not too fussed about tonights game tbh but a win would be nice :icon_bigg

We must win tonight!! I stuck 1200 vcash on the bastard!

Bonfire Bollocks' Blue and White Army!

After the last game's events and basically a near-loss, I am not particularly bothered about this game.

I'm very interested to see what side he picks, and how we react to the new management team

Other than that, the game is an irrelevance

I think this is a no-win and a no-lose game for Megson, however stupid that sounds:

If we win, fans won't give Megson any credit because it's not a league game and it's against opposition from a division below.

If we lose, Megson will say exactly that: it's not a league game, it's the league that's important, i'm still learning about the players.

Tonight's game is still important for me though: whenever you take 5,000 fans anywhere and whenever we play Fo%£*t (even if they don't care about us), it's important.

Also agreed that going to Charlton is always a bastard of a game,...apart from that I live 10 minutes away!

I believe we've also never beaten f0r£$t in a cup tie.

tonight game is just for megson to get one over forest and that its, he wants to win this game because we all see him as a forest reject, and if he beats forest he will feel some pressure off him from the fans and he might have more fans on his side as he knows leicester fans hate forest and how much joy we would get from a win at forest,

I think this is a huge game and some fans are hiding behind 'irrelevant cup, league important' mantra and trying to get excuses in early.

If our team cannot get themselves into gear to roll over a weaker side than QPR to establish their credentials for a new manager and grab the professional challenge of a tie against Aston Villa, even if MON holds little meaning for them, I fear for their ability to beat anybody.

FFS They should as a minimum be chomping at the reins with cries of 'Let's stuff them for Clive!'

I've no doubt the players will be out to win this game for Clive ... it will be interesting to see the squad that Megson comes up with for this game ... he would've been viewing dvd's of our season so far no doubt and will have formed his own opinion as to who should be in the starting lineup ... This game is important in that the team need to get back to winning ways ... we've had a couple of draws that could've gone either way in all honesty and this game hopefully will be a turning point in our season ... a loss tonight to Forest will have an adverse effect on team morale ... if we can't beat a team in league one how can we realistically be expecting to be promoted ... this game is important ... for team morale ... for the fans ... for MM ... and for Clive ...

I agree he want that win as much as any city fan, If we thrashed them I think he might win some fans over. but i do think people are being to premature in judging megson. He needs a few games to sus out the players.

Give him a chance

As far as I am concerned the curse continues. If he wasn't boss for the last game then he had no business standing on the touchline for duration of the game with his hands in his friggin pockets.

He made Craig Levein look animated.
