All that and then you agree with me at the end! :icon_bigg

I understand completely, I really enjoy some of the more obscure independent films, Tracey Fragments, Garden State etc, and I get protective over them, but I don't have to contend with remakes in that respect really. I have never been a horror fan and hate being scared!

Fair enough. I agree with you then. It is annoying to see your favourite films get ripped apart by some hack director just trying to make some £££.

Remaking the same films for a larger audience is just demeaning to the artistic integrity of Dario Argento and Tomas Alfredson.

Would you not say that they are 'demeaning' themselves by allowing them to be remade or have they refused a share of the filthy lucre?

Do they have any choice? Argento has said he is staunchly against the remake, so I cannot imagine he sanctioned it.

I've no idea, I'm just asking the question.
Whoever owns the rights to the film must have given permission for the remake to be made. It won't just be a payday for Hollywood, they'll be getting a nice chunk as well.

I guess you're right. Argento is a hero though, I can't hate him for it. :icon_lol:

You think this is bad. Jedward have covered All The Small Things, now there's some media rape that is ****ed up.

Though not a horror, 'Girl With A Dragon Tattoo' is being re-made by Hollywood but at least Fincher is the director.

Have you seen the films in Swedish? Obviously they're big over here but I wasn't sure if they were popular internationally.

When I was travelling Europe last year the Stieg Larsson books were in every bookshop - France, Spain, Germany etc etc. He's from the same small town as me mind you. :)

About as big as a foreign language film can be in the UK. The sequels are due for cinematic release at end of this month and September. 'Dragon' was rated very highly by the critics over here, I watched it at the weekend and did that annoying thing of comparing with the book, so didn't really enjoy it as I would like.

How did Larsson die again Swede?

Watched this last night. Sick, Twisted, Horrible!!

It really wasn't. I got around to watching it last month, it's a pretty average horror film.

Not the film itself Rosso, I meant the idea/story line of the film. I actually thought the film was more of a comedy after watching the first 20 minutes.

It's sick and not a horror film.
