Speculation The hysterical and annoying, but traditional, totally unfounded summer 2018 rumours thread.

I wouldn't be surprised to see Maguire leave and Mawson from Swansea come in.
Not that I want that to happen.
Maguire has four more years. We are not a selling club for players we would like to keep, like Maguire.

We may sell Mahrez, if enough money is put on the table.

We may sell Musa and Slimani as they do not appear to fit in with our style, though I am not sure what that is at the moment.

The last 2 games were played in our 2016 style, which was great, but we have had 5 months of turgid Puel style before that.

So which one is our style?

Let's get Steve Walsh back from Everton & give him Rudkin's job. Apparently Everton are "restructuring" & he may be on his way. Give him the job he should have been given in the first place. Time to rectify a blunder.

He has gone from Everton. Get him in.

Cheap in today’s market, but he has just been relegated in a season where he was part of a group who stole a taxi in Barcelona.

Is he really the sort of character we need around the place?
before the incident last season I've never heard of any previous scandal involving Jonny Evans and he is still a quality player, that's Wes' replacement sorted, deal being held up because his agent wants £4m, more than the transfer fee will be

If that’s only reason, just pay home the money. Agents are bastards but that shouldn’t stop us getting an excellent player for not much.
If we can bring in Evans, Mawson and potentially another left back, we’ll be more solid.

Also someone mentions Shaqiri as a possible replacement for Mahrez.

I think that could be a winner. People say Puel gets on well with Mavericks. Could be Shaqiri.

tbf I do think its completely wrong his agent would get £4m to only £3m for WBA, that's everything that is wrong with the game, Agents should get a percentage of the transfer fee

disagree, don't think we should be looking for a like for like Mahrez replacement, I want someone more direct in their approach, get someone like for like they will be on a hiding to nothing with fans, like when we signed Gareth Williams to replace Muzzy then they gave him Muzzy's number on top of that, he never stood a chance especially as he came from Forest

Gareth Williams got plenty of chances with everyone, and no one gave a toss that he'd played for Forest

Unfortunately he was absolutely feckin rubbish
I remember lots of people around me at grounds hating him from the very first touch of a ball that wasn't absolutely perfect

There is not a hope that Shaqiri is a like for like. But he does take a good fk
