Will prices drop towards the end of the window when clubs realise they can't get the asking prices they'd hoped for?

Obviously some will play hard ball and refuse to sell - why should they reduce their asking price because of the situation and because clubs can't afford to pay what they want? However, plenty of clubs will be in the boat where they need to sell to balance the books, sell to raise funds to bring in their own targets, or sell because players are entering final year of contract, etc.

It could be a few moves in different places set things in motion.

It's not that simple though. Seems the club may have done him over and reversed on a commitment.
