Speculation The hysterical and annoying, but traditional, totally unfounded winter 2018/19 rumours thread.

Watched the Newcastle game yesterday and it was obvious that he is just the sort of player that we needed on Saturday.

what we really need is someone that has a bit of pace so we don't totally lose that threat Vardy provides but is more physical, I'd go for a Dom Solanke as a buy and if rumours are true and he's available on loan I think Morata would work very well for us with the crosses we put in, but I doubt we'd want to pay anywhere near his wages

Puel wouldn't want a striker like Rondon. He's not especially keen on any type of striker, let alone a target man.

He didn't like Pelle at Southampton and he ditched Ulloa and Slimani as soon as he could.

If the recruitment people even bothered to ask Puel for his thoughts on January, he'd only have said 'tippy-tappy intensityyyyyy and qualityyyy please'.

Swap him for Rondon
I suggested we try to get Rondon in the summer and I got vilified. I'd have him in a heartbeat - he'd thrive on the crosses that the likes of Albrighton and Chilwell are putting in the box.

He is playing with confidence now.
Looks a different player.
When we faced him at WBA, he nearly always gave our back line trouble.

Leicester City are not planning to sign any new players in the January transfer window, the Mercury understands.

City boss Claude Puel is happy with the squad he currently has and is not looking to strengthen in January unless he loses one of his first team players to injury.”

I expect this is just bluff, but if it isn’t Jesus wept. We very obviously need a striker, a midfielder, and a wide man. I expect at least one of those in the January window.

We also need to ship the shit.

I think there will be plenty going out the door, even if it is only on loan.

Being a cynic - We’re not likely to go down, so wouldn’t it be sensible to not chase new signings under our current manager, if there was a thought that we may want to change him next summer?

Are they going to be his signings anyway?

I agree. Assuming we don’t absolutely brick it in next 8 games.

Players will only be leaving if; a) there a people willing to buy or loan them and b) the players either take a pay cut where necessary, the buying or loaning club are prepared to stump up the cash to match their current salaries or the club decide to take a hit on their wages.

It really isn't easy to 'get rid' of players as we have seen transfer window after transfer window. I wouldn't be expecting much business at all in January, either way.

We'll loan a fair few out, having picked up the difference in wages

yeah but its better than having them hanging around potentially causing unrest due to their frustration oat not playing.

I can see Fuchs leaving for MLS this window too ready for their pre season

I suspect this is what will happen.
