I was in Australia at the time and remember watching it live. Couldn’t believe what I was seeing.
Thanks for doing a shit on this Vardy appreciation thread by posting that god awful wank sport over it. Is it that hard scoring 1000 goals when the average score is like 421 - 507?I guess it's way more of a landmark than 200 goals. Only six players have ever kicked 1000 in the entire history. It did seem bonkers though! Hope you enjoyed your time out here.
Maybe him withdrawing from England also extended his footballing career. He is also a 'late starter,' Many top players are burnt out by 30 or so by teh sheer numbers of games played at the top level.
Agreed. Totally unappreciated for England, played out of position and part of a poor formation to boot, doomed to fail.Maybe him withdrawing from England also extended his footballing career.
Not a fan then? Thanks for doing a shit on this Vardy appreciation thread by posting that god awful wank sport over it. Is it that hard scoring 1000 goals when the average score is like 421 - 507?
I have so many battles with small minded, parochial Aussies who slate the beautiful game. I guess it's different if you live a city where FOOTBALL is more popular. Not a fan then?

throth
Never heard of pledging one's troth? It's archaic, not Australian. Is that an Australian word?

Fair cop! I meant froth. No idea why I put throth. Time for a throthy coffee me thinks.Yes. But that's not what he wrote.
Oh FFS, I've lived in Oz for 10 years now. I knew I'd miss my football but I did not know just how much the culture is ingrained in me. Not just going to game, but the night before, the morning papers, the point before hand, after, match of the day, work the next day. I love this forum, its a place I can dip into that. I thought it was a safe haven for all things football. I love you Joe, but take your wank AFL somewhere else. It may have a lot of things missing from football like the draft and fairness but it's a messy, shit load of crap sport. If you want to defend it do it somewhere else. Sure money can be a ruin of our game, I love Vardy to death but he doesn't play for free you know.I'm sure they feel the same way about the small minded parochial English who still throth over the once beautiful game that is now nothing more than a faceless, lucrative business which feasts on the dwindling finances of an overly sentimental population. For the record, I'm one of that population but there is a lot not to like about the state of football as well documented on here and elsewhere. The rawness of AFL and the guardrails in place to keep it competitive and fair often make it a much bertter spectacle. To bring this full circle, sadly, one of the last burning embers of "proper" football is Jamie Vardy. When he finally hangs up his boots it will not only be a very sad day because we'll not get to see him play again, but also because it will feel like a door closing on "proper" football as a whole. What other current player epitomises the football we really love? I can't think of any.
With thinnamon thwinkles?Fair cop! I meant froth. No idea why I put throth. Time for a throthy coffee me thinks.

Cool, I'll hold you to that....but not the footy bitif you are ever in Melbourne during the footy finals, let's go to a game and I'll buy you a beer or two.
Only Manchester City’s Erling Haaland now has a better shot-conversion rate in the Premier League than Vardy since his debut at the start of the 2014-15 season and the Norwegian has only just overtaken Vardy. Of all the strikers in that time who had 300+ shots on goal, including Van Nistelrooy, only Haaland (24.28) can better Vardy’s conversion rate of 22.29.
This season, Vardy is fourth in the conversion table with 33.3 per cent behind Yoane Wisse (39.13 from 23 shots), Chris Wood (37.04 from 27 shots) and Bryan Mbeumo (36 from 25 shots).
