the f.a.cup did it for you.
I remember going to filbo on f.a.cup day in my youth and always enjoyed the extra spice and atmosphere that went with it.
When we rolled over a "bigger" club it seemed like the place was rocking.
Then the buzz of finding out who you got in the next round.
Sadly the fat cats have seriously damaged this great competition with their nose in the air attitude and the 2nd string sides they put out.
Exeter's result against Man U was superb but i wonder if later in life their players would sooner tell the grandkids how they put up a real fight in a 2-0 defeat against Keane, Rooney ,Ferdinand and the real Man U.
IMO why can't the f.a and the league get together and make teams put out a starting 11 that is within 3 players of a team that the club used for any league fixture during the current season. That way they would have to play a decent side. Fans from small clubs get few chances to see the big boys , so when they draw the plum they shouldn't have to pay prem prices to see the reserves.
Its a great competition that should be preserved.
In recent years the win at villa park and the defeat and utter despair of losing to Wycombe is what makes it great.Long may it continue.
Would like to hear your thoughts on the f.a.cup
