Seriously, look at Man City's squad. It's effectively 2 first teams. How do you compete with that over a season? Nah, we've done bloody well all things considered.
Unless something is done about this, we will be in de facto super league territory, even if a super league never comes about. Enough wealth will accumulate at the top teams for them to be able to field a team for ever-increasing european matches, a team for the league and a stripped down team for our domestic trophies. They will further cement their place at the top of football and will probably be able to get the rules changed to get things like project big picture and the super league through.

Will it be fun to watch a team that cycles through teams and thus have no connection to the players? No, it'll be ****ing soul draining, but that's never stopped these plastic, entitled arseholes before.

That handbag doesn't look very practical. Wtf could you carry in it? 1 bank card?

He's looking at the same little person that taunts Rooney in interviews.

so to clarify....to qualify for CL

1) smash Spurs by +6 and Liverpool win by +1 (unlikely)
2) beat Spurs and Liverpool or Chelsea draw (possible)
3) draw with Spurs and either Liverpool lose by -5 or Chelsea lose by -2 (unlikely)
4) lose narrowly (-1) and Liverpool get tonked by (-6) (very unlikley)

is that right?

No.

If we win:
We're in the CL if Chelsea or Liverpool don't win. Or if Liverpool win, but we win by four more goals than they do.

If we draw:
We're in the CL if Liverpool lose, or if Chelsea lose by at least three goals.

If we lose:
We're in the CL if Liverpool lose by four more goals than we do.

if we win 5-0 and they win 1-0 , we'd be on +25 and them on +25

and they'd be in on the head to head?

3-0 vs 3-1 ?

No. Goals scored. It's only head to head if goals scored is the same.
aaaah

thanks

so win and hope one of the other two draw, pretty simple, the rest is daft, but last day of the season can be daft

maybe an emotional hedge down the bookies...tonnes of money on Liv and Chelsea to win accumulator

If we don't get CL and Tielemans stays here then he's wasting his career, simple as that. He is a few levels above most of the people he's playing with and to waste that talent and drive to be the best playing alongside duffers like Perez and attitude voids like Maddison is madness for him.

The last two seasons have been unusual and we have failed to take advantage of the best opportunity we have had to get CL football, twice.

It won't continue to be this easy. I might be accused of being a negative sod but at least i'm not little in mentality, we've ****ed it big time, a massive opportunity to kick on pissed away at the last minute again.
Yes, considering all the issues for me the biggest one is keeping Youri. New contract has been rumoured for months now but feels like he's stalling to see if we get CL. Would probably feel like a good ending for him - score FA cup winner, leave with a good feeling having taken us as far as he can.

I'm not sure I'm so worried about any of the other players leaving. Maddison can go if he wants and players like Cags whose stock was high last summer perhaps haven't had as good seasons. Not too bothered about who we play to in Europe next season. No doubt KP would like the extra money but there are no indications of them running off if we don't get it. But Youri is the one I am worried about.

It seems our best hope for the future is that our recruitment will hold out and the shitload of cash we get for Tielemans and possibly Soyuncu and Maddison will be spent on capable replacements. We also need Rodgers to stay.

If we draw with Spurs Liverpool need only lose as we would be a point ahead of them.
