I don't think it's beneath us at all I simply don't think its a priority and would be willing to risk not qualifying to see Puel implement the changes he wants to make in the summer earlier where possible

To implement the changes AND qualify, will have us salivating for next season :)

I want European football. And I want to see Leicester play Bilbao. And other teams. The premier league only changes 3 teams a year. This is a great chance for variety!!

I’ve lost count of the amount of times teams at the “non top 6 level” qualify for it and then put their reserve team out in it. West Ham, Aston Villa and Hull City stand out without even thinking about it.

Clearly someone forgot to mention to them all that it’s such a prestigious, worthwhile tournament.

I want us to finish 7th, but not because I want to qualify for the Europa League, but because I don’t want to finish below Burnley.

You want Puel to make the changes he wants to make in the summer, yet in the team YOU choose in the OP you would include one player who is most unlikely to be at the club by then and two who have consistently proved themselves not fit-for-purpose. Let's hope Puel's ideas are different from yours.

Quite. The OP team contains the four (Mahrez, Vardy, Ndidi and Maguire) who with varying degrees of certainty could attract attention and possibly bids in the summer. The other seven are just the usual random selection of the squad who have played well in a few games (most likely the ones we won) and been anonymous or worse in just as many (most likely the ones we lost). It's amusing (and inexplicable) that the team who drew with (a much stronger) Chelsea at Stamford Bridge a few weeks ago, seemed to do so with James, Okazaki, Dragovic and Amartey in the starting lineup, all of whom have been cast into the outer darkness in the weeks since.

As Puel at least has a chance of making this "his team" with some astute signings in the close season - and the return of Mendy?, if we're trying anything surely it should be the most promising of the young players - Diabate, Barnes and Choudhury for instance who should be tested

Who gives a shit what other clubs do, especially clubs with an ingrained loser mentality like those mentioned?

Perhaps we could go against the tide of pathetic mediocrity and try to win the thing from the off?

Would be quite refreshing.

I would like us to finish with as many points as possible, and Puel to play his strongest team for the remaining games.

If he is going to bring in replacements, what is the point of Nacho playing with Mahrez.

Yes, Schmeichel did not get to the ball first, but that does not make him a crap keeper.

Should we drop any player who shoots but misses the target, yet alone forces the keeper to make a save?

Should we drop every winger who cannot get a cross or corner past the first defender?

In the remaining games I would like see our strongest, most consistent players playing, and that would include Morgan, Schmeichel and Fuchs.

Seems you may have some goalkeeping experience.

so do I which is why I find someone making the same mistakes he was 5 years ago reason enough for a replacement to signed, only reason I suggest playing Jakupovic is to decide whether or not we are happy with him as the No 2 next season

Why you would use those teams as an example of why we shouldn't play to qualify and try to win the thing is beyond me. Those are perfect examples of why we most definitely should so as to try to avoid becoming as lost as they are right now.
Clearly someone forgot to mention to them all that it’s such a prestigious, worthwhile tournament.
Erm.... someone probably forgot to mention it here as well then because nobody has written that. Anywhere. At all. Just because some of us want to see that our club has ambition and a will to win things, it doesn't mean we suddenly believe those things are gold. I'd like to see us win the Carabao Cup but that doesn't mean that I think it is prestigious.
I want us to finish 7th, but not because I want to qualify for the Europa League, but because I don’t want to finish below Burnley.
So if Burnley lose their last few games and finish 13th, you will be happy to finish 12th? That's the most bizarre statement you've made for some time. I don't understand why you wouldn't want to see us play in Europe again? Did you ever really see a time when you were growing up supporting your club that you wouldn't want them to achieve a European cup place?

Like I say, winning the league has damaged some of our supporters beyond repair.

A bit like how people supposedly said the tournament was “beneath us”, when nobody has written that. Anywhere. At all.

Look, can I not just say that I don’t like the competition and not that bothered by it? It has never interested me as a neutral and I doubt it would interest me if we were in it. That could possibly change if we get in it, but right now that’s how I feel.

Can I not have a different opinion? This forum would be a pretty boring place if everyone thought the same thing.

So you can’t read. Explains a lot.
You said that the reason you wanted us to finish 7th is so that we finish above Burnley. If that is the reason, then you've used it as a yardstick. What are you struggling understand? My reading of it is fine, your writing of it is either badly formed or idiotic. Amazingly, it is You who can't understand what you have written. I'd laugh if it wasn't so tragic.

And you can't see why that has been inferred when you are using Hull and Villa as examples of why we should give it a miss? Come on fella, really think about this one.

Of course you can. People also have the right to challenge that opinion. I'm not bothered what you think about the tournament and haven't challenged that really. I have challenged your apathy surrounding the club you support and their chance of playing in a European tournament, something it has hardly ever done. This is exemplified further by your reasoning for wanting us to finish 7th as 'not wanting us to finish below Burnley'. Perhaps you think that they are beneath us as well?

From hero to zero in the blink of an eye.
Came on against the Baggies, played very well, helped turn the game our way.
Played so well, many clamoured for him to start..
Starts the next game, didn't have the best of games, so he must be a pile of shite....

How many times has this been said about various players this season?

I go back to Vardy's first showing for us. He wouldn't be given a second chance nowadays.

Winning the league has spoilt a lot of our so called fans
Fickle ****ers!

The difference of course is that you could never accuse Vardy of being lazy.
