Liverpool make move to replace Philippe Coutinho with Leicester star Riyad Mahrez

So about two thirds of whatever they get from Barca is probably a fair price comparing their relative skills, assuming Mahrez believes Liverpool to be a big enough club.

If it's Liverpool then we do what they have done with Barca and demand full value and not a penny less.

I hate the thought of letting him go to an underachieving side that lives on past glory year after year.

He just needs to look at how they always lose their best players to realise it's not the massive club people think.

Even Can is ****ing off to Juve.

It's going to happen this time isn't it?

He's on his way to the dirty scousers that never win anything any more for a lot less than his market value.

And we'll replace him with a mardy half wit from PSG that likes our 'current' manager and who will be a total liability the moment said manager goes.

January is shit.

It's not going to be 90. We may get 70.

If Liverpool think Mahrez is only half the value of Coutinho, why would they want him. If they believe him to be nearly as good, they pay the going rate.

They only paid £9million for him so will make a profit of £100million+. We should expect the same for Mahrez.

I suspect there is a price which is agreed between Mahrez and the owner, which, if offered, would be accepted. I suspect it’s also a fair bit less than we would all like it to be. If we get more than £60m, I’ll be surprised and I wouldn’t be totally shocked if it’s slightly less than that.

For clarity - I think he’s worth more, but that’s what I think will happen in reality.

He may see Liverpool as a stepping stone, but I don't think that's really where he would want to be.

LCFC is a better stepping stone - recent Champions of England against nearly 30 years ago when Liverpool were champions of England. (yes only 12 years since they won CL)

In percentage terms that's what, 14 times the original value if it's 133m?

Apply the same logic...

We get 5.2m. Don't apply the same logic!!

No the logic is that for a similar player we also make a profit of £100million+ on the sale.
