What about watching Leicester play in the Premiership in a stadium shared with the egg chasers?
I don't like it, but I would still go for that option over playing fizzy in our own stadium

the place would become known as the ground where Tigers play home matches, oh and every now and then that football team whats its name plays there......

No it wouldn't

Football is more popular in Leicester than rugby, despite all the success the egg chasers have. Football is much more popular in the country that rugby is. So it would still be seen mainly as a football stadium. How many people think of Vicarage Road or the Madejski Stadium as a rugby stadium?

oh yes it feckin would, you only had to hear those tigers tossers on the radio and TV, and how they were going to transform the stadium to their liking. I have also spoken to someone within the club and they said the tigers lot were too full of themselves.

Melton and BG have cited instant success.

A 20 goal striker would have feck off wages and if he got relegated his wages would be a probelm.

A stadium bought and we get relegated, we have no danger of it being attritubed to us struggling finicially.

We already have a 20 goal striker, Mr.Fryatt, although he will be gone for long.

So you're worried about a few farmers talking shite?

Just ignore them, most people do.

I do, but I am also sure it will never happen....

That was the basis for the argument if you read Mr Taylors quotes

Andrew Taylor said:
"Let's say we gained promotion into the Premier League after next season and received the Premier League dividend of £20-odd million, what would be the best deployment of that capital, buying the stadium, investing in the squad to keep us in the top tier or improving the academy (or something else)....? I wonder how many fans would think it a good idea to invest the Premier League "windfall" in buying back the stadium rather than buy a 20 goal-a-season striker who could keep us in the top flight.
As Chairman I need the Board to work through the decisions it takes. These are big decisions and we have to think through unintended consequences."

But short-term reasons rather than long-term reasons. Carefully, carefully like a monkey.
When has a fukkin monkey been careful.

Slowly, Slowly Catchy Monkey

Anyways, save argument. Matty Fryatt will be capable of scoring 20 gls in Premiership in 3 to 5 years.
I'm not on about a striker as nearly all of my posts have stated. I would invest £20,000,000 in the strengthening of the 1st eleven

I have said I could not give a feck about the clubs financial standing, I could not give a feck if they owned the ground or not. I would rather see world class stars in our blue shirt. I worry about my own money not anybody elses.
This club will still be around in 50 years so whats the problem

I went for the stadium - but only if we're talking about £20m on one or the other here. A striker is never guaranteed to have the impact that would be expected and we have Matty Fryatt.

However if given the choice I'd split it. And take the last million to the bookies to try and "invest" it :icon_wink

Just like in 2003/4 eh BG

The club was 30 minutes from going out of existance. That is a fact, we were heavily involved & had frantic phone calls on the last day before the financial target that needed to be raised was met.

We had confirmation within half an hour that as part of the consortium that we had saved it

Bloody short memories some have!!!

get your head out of your arse and read what I post. I was well aware what was happening. How much did YOU lose personally. Nobody came to help bail me out. I still had to pay my suppliers, I still had to pay my overheads and I still had to pay my workers.
And what would have really happened if that 30 min deadline had expired. Like every other club who has been in that same situation, the deadline would almost certainly have been extended and we all know there was another consortium waiting in the wings. I could refer to Hull City, look at what shit they were in and where they are now. It was in the interest of all the creditors to get the mess sorted out, well most anyway!!! So dont go harping on about frantic phone calls and being the saviors of the club because it dont wash.....

The only advantage the club could have in owning the stadium, is that they would have something to keep on raising money against. When push comes to shove, if we are in the premiership, the excess money will ALWAYS go towards the squad building. The teams who do not keep adding to the squad, nearly always come back down.

Buy the players with the money to ensure we stay in the Prem. The stadium payments I think are about £1million a year, £2million in the Prem. That is not crippling. What is crippling is not staying in the Prem. Owning the stadium will not keep us in the Prem - only a good team can do that. I do not think that many of the top continental clubs own their stadia. Does not seem to bother their fans.

Surely the £20 million figure is just pulled out of the air anyway. I thought with the new deal it was closer to £30 million. I don't see why we couldn't spend it on both.
